Moor Green F.C.
Moor Green F.C. was a non-league association football team originally from the Hall Green area of south Birmingham but later based in the town of Solihull, West Midlands, England. In 2007 the club merged with Solihull Borough to form a new club, Solihull Moors. History Moor Green FC was formed in 1901 by players from the Moseley Ashfield Cricket Club but did not play competitive football until 1922 when they joined the Birmingham AFA. In 1935–36 they were league champions and joined the Central Amateur League and were league champions in each of the three seasons they played in the league. After World War II the Moors joined the Birmingham Combination, followed by a switch to the Birmingham & District League (soon to be renamed the West Midlands (Regional) League) in 1954. They struggled in this league, however, and in 1965 stepped down to the Worcestershire Combination (soon to be renamed the Midland Football Combination), which was at the time considered a weaker league, ... 2006–07 Football Conference
The 2006–07 season was the 28th season of the Football Conference. Overview This season saw the promotion of Dagenham & Redbridge and Morecambe to the Football League for the first time, whilst Droylsden, Farsley Celtic, Histon and Salisbury City were promoted to the Conference National for the first time in their history. At the end of the season Scarborough and Farnborough Town went out of business, whilst Hayes and Yeading merged to form a new club, Hayes & Yeading United and Moor Green merged with Southern League side Solihull Borough to form Solihull Moors (which took Moor Green's place in the Conference North). Oxford United drew the biggest crowds, with an average of 6,332 spectators and a peak of 11,065 in their match against Woking. Exeter City came second far behind them, with an average of 3,627, just beating Oxford's average with a peak of 6,670 in their match against Southport. 1999–2000 Southern Football League
The 1999–2000 season was the 97th for the Southern Football League. At the end of the previous season Midland Division was renamed Western Division, and Southern Division was renamed Eastern Division. Boston United won the Premier Division and earned promotion to the Football Conference. Atherstone United, Gloucester City, Grantham Town and Rothwell Town were relegated from the Premier Division, whilst Folkestone Invicta, Moor Green, Fisher Athletic and Stafford Rangers were promoted from the Eastern and Western divisions, the former two as champions. Fleet Town, Yate Town and Stourbridge were relegated to the eighth level whilst Raunds Town resigned from the league. The National League of Professional Baseball Clubs, known simply as the National League (NL), is the older of two leagues constituting Major League Baseball (MLB) in the United States and Canada, and the world's oldest extant professional team sports league. Founded on February 2, 1876, to replace the National Association of Professional Base Ball Players (NAPBBP) of 1871–1875 (often called simply the "National Association"), the NL is sometimes called the Senior Circuit, in contrast to MLB's other league, the American League, which was founded 25 years later and is called the "Junior Circuit". The FA Amateur Cup was an England, English football (soccer), football competition for amateur clubs. It commenced in 1893 and ended in 1974 when the Football Association abolished official amateur status. History Following the legalisation of professionalism within football, professional teams quickly came to dominate the sport's main national Single-elimination tournament, knock-out tournament, the FA Cup. In response to this, the committee of the country's oldest club, Sheffield F.C., suggested in 1892 the organisation of a separate national cup solely for amateur teams, and even offered to pay for the trophy itself. FA Trophy
The Football Association Challenge Trophy, commonly known as the FA Trophy, is a men's football knockout cup competition run by and named after the English Football Association and competed for primarily by semi-professional teams. The competition was instigated in 1969 to cater to those non-league clubs that paid their players and were therefore not eligible to enter the FA Amateur Cup. Eligibility rules have changed over time, but from 2008 onwards the competition has been open to clubs playing in Steps 1–4 of the National League System, equivalent to tiers 5–8 of the overall English football league system. This covers the National League, the Southern League, Isthmian League, and Northern Premier League. The final of the competition was held at the original Wembley Stadium from the tournament's instigation until the stadium closed in 2000. The Football Association Challenge Cup, more commonly known as the FA Cup, is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic English football. First played during the 1871–72 season, it is the oldest national football competition in the world. It is organised by and named after The Football Association (The FA). Since 2015, it has been known as The Emirates FA Cup after its headline sponsor. A concurrent women's tournament is also held, the Women's FA Cup. The competition is open to all eligible clubs down to Level 9 of the English football league system with Level 10 clubs acting as stand-ins in the event of non-entries from above.
