Moonstar88 is a Filipino rock band formed in Manila, Philippines in 1999. History Moonstar88 was formed in February 1999. They were signed to Sony BMG by 2006, and later to Ivory Records in 2012. Previously under Backbeat Management, they are now with Soupstar Management under Darwin Hernandez which also handles other bands including Sandwich, Callalily, 6cyclemind, Pedicab. As of April 2008, they had released four albums, ''Popcorn'', ''Press to Play'' and ''Todo Combo''. Later, “This Year” and a collaboration on "Pag-Ibig Ko Sa Iyo", found on ''RoK On! Music'' inspired by Ragnarok Online were released in 2012 and 2009 respectively. They performed a rendition of the APO song "Panalangin." It was later added to the tribute album for the band Apo Hiking Society on the album, '' Kami nAPO Muna''. The band has also recorded a cover of Yano's famous song, "Senti". Migraine (Moonstar88 Song)
"Migraine" is a Tagalog-language song written by Herbert Hernandez for the Filipino rock band Moonstar88, with Maychelle Baay in the lead vocals. It was released in early February 19, 2008 as the third single of their album ''Todo Combo'' (2007), after "Tadhana" and "Di Kasi". It was included in the soundtrack to the 2009 film ''When I Met U'', and was later covered by actress Yassi Pressman for the 2018 film ''Pambansang Third Wheel'' and by Sue Ramirez for the 2019 film ''Cuddle Weather''. Alongside "Torete" and "Sulat", "Migraine" is generally considered as one of Moonstar88's most popular songs. Parokya ni Edgar (lit: Edgar's Parish) is a Filipino band formed in 1993. The band is known for its original rock novelty songs and often satirical covers of popular songs both foreign and local. Hector Avanceña Zabala (born November 13, 1971), popularly known as Buddy Zabala, is a Filipino musician and producer. He is currently the bassist of Filipino pop band Moonstar88 and indie band Cambio, and widely known as the bassist and backing vocalist of the alternative rock band, Eraserheads. Alfonso Yanga Miranda Jr. (born February 7, 1976), widely known as Chito Miranda, is a Filipino singer-songwriter and occasional actor, best known as one of the founding members and lead singer for the band Parokya ni Edgar. Early life and career Miranda attended grade school and high school at the Ateneo de Manila University where he met Gab Chee Kee, Vinci Montaner, Jeric Estaco, and Mikko Yap. They formed a garage band during their high school years. The group was known in school to be class clowns. The Apolinario Mabini Hiking Society, later popularly known as APO Hiking Society, or simply APO, was a Filipino musical group and one of the pillars of Original Pilipino Music (Original Pilipino Music, OPM) composed of Danny Javier†, Jim Paredes, and Boboy Garrovillo. Kami NAPO Muna
''Kami nAPO Muna'' is a tribute album to the 1970s Filipino musical group, APO Hiking Society. Released in 2006, the album features covers of APO Hiking Society songs, performed by a number of Filipino bands and artists. It was followed by a second tribute album, ''Kami nAPO Muna ULIT'', in 2007. Title The album's title, ''Kami nAPO Muna'', loosely translates to "our turn now" in Filipino; the phrase is also a play on the name ''Apo''. APO Hiking Society itself has used the word ''nAPO'' (''na pô'', the respectful form of "already") in many concerts, as well as on a noontime variety show. Kamikazee
Kamikazee or KMKZ is a Filipino rock band formed in 2000. The band, originally known all throughout its career as a quintet, is currently composed of Jay Contreras (lead vocals), Jomal Linao (lead guitar and vocals), Led Tuyay (guitar), Puto Astete (bass), Bords Burdeos (drums), Jian Lubiano (guitar), and Mikki Jill (keyboards & vocals). Lily (stylized in all caps, formerly known as Callalily) is a pop rock band from the Philippines formed in 2005. The band is currently composed of Lem Belaro, Aaron Ricafrente, Nathan Reyes, Joshua Bulot, and Alden Acosta, the band's original lead guitarist who reunited with the band in 2022, twelve years after he left in 2010.
