Moodgadget
Moodgadget is an independent electronic music label with the mission of exposing the diversity in electronically made music. Founded in 2004 in Ann Arbor, Michigan by Jakub Alexander and Adam E. Hunt, the label began as an effort to popularize the founders' opinion that electronic music is a process, not a genre; within its walls live a diverse range of sounds, which would be documented over the course of the label's development. The label is based in Brooklyn, New York, with Jakub and Adam sharing label management duties. Alexander handles A+R and Hunt serves as the mastering engineer and web designer. Design and artwork are provided by Alex Koplin, who joined the label in 2008. Design contributors include PhilistineDSGN, Adam E. Mux Mool
Mux Mool (born Brian Lindgren) is an American electronic musician, producer, and visual artist affiliated with the labels Moodgadget, Ghostly International, and Super Best Records. He has been featured on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim, and is a member of Club Scouts, a musical partnership with Michal Menert. He currently resides in Denver, Colorado. Biography Mux Mool was born in Minnesota, and made his first electronic track in 1998. He attended The Perpich Center for Arts Education (Golden Valley, MN) from 2000-2001, where he studied visual arts. He made his commercial debut with the track "Lost and Found" in 2006. Released by Moodgadget on their Rorschach Suite compilation. Lindgren moved to Brooklyn in 2008 and released the ''Drum EP '' and ''Death 9000''. Benoit Pioulard
Thomas Meluch (born August 4, 1984) is an American multi-instrumentalist, writer, and photographer, best known by his pseudonym Benoît Pioulard. His music signed to Kranky Records. Biography Meluch began documenting field recordings and his own lo-fi compositions on dictaphones, discarded stereos and four-track machines in the mid 1990s, later focusing on highly limited CD-R and cassette releases of his experimental, folk-influenced songs for friends and family. His first recordings as Benoît Pioulard appeared on the ''Random Number...Colors Start'' compilation released by the Ann Arbor-based Moodgadget label in 2004. Kyle Bobby Dunn
Kyle Bobby Dunn (born February 27, 1986) is a Canadian composer, arranger, and live performer of modern compositional and guitar based drone music. He has performed in live and exclusive outdoor settings, including Banff National Park, since 2000 and has released music on various international recording labels. His work has been described as "compositions that are patience incarnate" and "encourage an emotional response even as its seemingly infinite, creeping swirl and hum threatens to numb. A difficult feat." Seth Troxler
Seth Troxler is an American DJ and record producer from Lake Orion, Michigan. His DJ work focuses on house and techno, while he has produced on the Wolf + Lamb, Crosstown Rebels and Circus Company labels, collaborating with artists Art Department, Deetron, Tiefschwarz, Matthew Dear and Subb-an. Troxler draws upon the musical heritage of Detroit and Chicago and his influences include Richie Hawtin and Moodymann. He is one of the founders of the record label Visionquest, as well as head of labels Tuskegee, Soft Touch and Play It, Say It. He also owns a restaurant in East London called Smokey Tails. Beacon (band)
Beacon is an American electronic music group from Brooklyn. History Beacon was founded in 2011 by Thomas Mullarney and Jacob Gossett, both of whom were students at the Pratt Institute at the time. They began by self-releasing their first singles through the Bandcamp platform. Later that year, Moodgadget issued the group's first EP, ''No Body'', leading to tours with Gold Panda, Oneohtrix Point Never, and Tycho. In 2012 the group signed with Ghostly International, who released their debut full-length in 2013. A sophomore full-length arrived on the same label in early 2016.
