Monument To Nizami Ganjavi In Saint Petersburg
The Monument to Nizami Ganjavi in Saint Petersburg is located in a square situated between houses 25 and 27 on Kamennoostrovsky Prospekt. History The sculpture had been founded in Baku and then presented to Saint Petersburg as a gift from Azerbaijan on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the city's origination. The sculpture was created by Gerush Babayev, an Azerbaijani sculptor, alumni of the Saint Petersburg Art and Industry Academy. Felix Romanovskiy, Honoured artist of the Russia, Russian Federation is the author of a pedestal's project. The pedestal was made in “Kombinat-skulptura” enterprise of Petersburg. Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia and Heydar Aliyev, the then president of Azerbaijan also participated in the opening ceremony of the monument. Kamennoostrovsky Prospekt
Kammennoostrovsky Prospekt (russian: Каменноостро́вский проспе́кт) is one of the main streets of Petrogradsky District of Saint Petersburg. It runs from Trinity Bridge and Trinity Square across Petrogradsky Island, the Karpovka River, Aptekarsky Island, the Malaya Nevka and Kamenny Island to the Bolshaya Nevka. It is served by two Saint Petersburg Metro stations: Gorkovskaya and Petrogradskaya. At Leo Tolstoy Square, where the Petrogradskaya Metro is located, Kamennoostrovsky Prospekt crosses another large avenue, Bolshoy Prospekt. The Saint Petersburg Stieglitz State Academy of Art and Design (Санкт-Петербургская художественно-промышленная академия имени А. Л. Штиглица; abbreviated as СПГХПА) is the oldest school of design in Russia. It occupies a parcel of land immediately to the east of the Summer Garden in Saint Petersburg. History It was set up in Saint Petersburg in 1876 by Baron Alexander von Stieglitz (1814–84), a millionaire philanthropist, as the School of Technical Drawing.
