Monty Tiwa
Monty Tiwa (born 28 August 1976 in Jakarta) is an Indonesian screenwriter, composer, film editor, film producer and film director. Monty Tiwa enrolled in University of Kansas before he returned to Indonesia and worked as creative writer for Trans TV (2002–2003), head section creative for RCTI (2003–2004) and creative director for MNC (2004–2005). Currently, Monty works as an independent writer and film director. (from jv, ꦥꦺꦴꦕꦺꦴꦁ, pocong, wrapped-in-shroud) is a Javanese ghost that is said to be the soul of a dead person trapped in their shroud. (Indonesia) Known in Indonesian as ''kain kafan'', the shroud is the prescribed length of cloth used in Muslim burials to wrap the body of the dead person. The dead body is covered in white fabric tied over the head, under the feet, and on the neck. According to traditional beliefs, the soul of a dead person will stay on the Earth for 40 days after the death. If the ties over the shroud are not released after 40 days, the body is said to jump out from the grave to warn people that the soul needs to be released. Once the ties are released, the soul will leave the Earth permanently. ''Mendadak Dangdut'' (''Suddenly Dangdut'') is a 2006 Indonesian musical comedy-drama film directed by Rudy Soedjarwo and written by Monty Tiwa. Starring Titi Kamal, Kinaryosih, and Dwi Sasono, it details the rise and fall of an alternative rock-turned-dangdut singer and her sister-cum-manager.
