Monti Tiburtini (Rome Metro)
Monti Tiburtini is a station on Line B of the Rome Metro. It is located on Via dei Monti Tiburtini, at the junction with Via Filippo Meda. To make room for its construction, in the early 1980s, some tennis courts and a football field of a nearby sports centre were demolished. It opened on 8 December 1990. Roma Tiburtina Railway Station
Roma Tiburtina is the second largest railway station in Rome, after Roma Termini station, Roma Termini. Located in the north-eastern part of the city, it was originally constructed during the 1860s as a Train station#Terminus, terminal station. In recent years, the station has been redeveloped to better serve as a hub for the Italian High-speed rail in Italy, high-speed rail services. The station is connected to Rome's Metro Line B (Rome Metro), line B at Tiburtina (Rome Metro), Tiburtina metro station, as well as to local bus services via an adjacent bus station, bus depot while private vehicle users are provided with more than 100,000 spaces across multiple on-site car parks. Line B (Rome Metro)
Line B is a metro line serving Rome, Italy, and part of the Rome Metro. Despite its name, Line B was the first line to be built in the city. It crosses Rome diagonally from north-east, starting at Rebibbia and at Jonio stations, to south, terminating at Laurentina, in the EUR district. It crosses Line A at Termini station. The line has 26 stations and is shown in blue on Metro maps. Overview Its first service runs at 05:30 and its last at 23:30. From 18 January 2008, the last Friday and Saturday service runs at 1:30. Alessandro "Sandro" Pertini (; 25 September 1896 – 24 February 1990) was an Italian socialist politician who served as the president of Italy from 1978 to 1985. Early life Born in Stella (Province of Savona) as the son of a wealthy landowner, Alberto, he studied at a Salesian college in Varazze, and completed his schooling at the "''Chiabrera''" lyceum (high school) in Savona. His philosophy teacher was Adelchi Baratono, a reformist socialist who contributed to his approach to socialism and probably introduced him to the inner circles of the Ligurian labour movements. Pertini obtained a law degree from the University of Genoa.
