Montferland Run
Pfixx Solar Montferland Run is an annual 15-kilometres road running competition held in 's-Heerenberg, Montferland, Netherlands. It was first organised in 1996 and typically takes place on the first Sunday in December. Unlike many elite level road races, the course for the Montferland Run is a difficult, hilly one which does not easily allow for internationally fast times. The start and finish point of the race is in the old town area of 's-Heerenberg. The course has traces a circuit through the Montferland Forest and passes the small, nearby villages of Stokkum, Beek and Zeddam. The race includes both elite athlete and fun runners, and there is also a shorter 7.5 km race. In order to preserve the surrounding environment and retain the character of the races, the competition is limited to 3500 entries per year.Mo ... Eunice Jepkirui Kirwa (born 20 May 1984) is a Kenyan-born Bahraini long-distance runner who specialises in marathon running. Having switched countries in 2013, she is the Bahraini record holder with 2:21:17 hours for the distance, set in 2017 at Nagoya Women's Marathon. She was the silver medallist in the marathon at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games. At the start of her career, she represented Kenya at the IAAF World Youth Championships in Athletics over 1500 metres. Caroline Kilel
Caroline Cheptanui Kilel (born 21 March 1981) is a Kenyan long-distance runner who specializes in road running competitions. She was the winner at the 2011 Boston Marathon and the Frankfurt Marathon in 2010 and 2013. Kilel took the silver medal in the marathon at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. She has also won marathons in Ljubljana, Taipei, Nairobi and Palermo. Her personal best for the distance is 2:22:34 set in Frankfurt in 2013, and her best in the half marathon is 1:08:16. Nicholas Manza Kamakya (born 1 January 1985) is a Kenyan long-distance runner who competes in road running events, including marathons. He was the 2007 winner of the Boilermaker Road Race 15K. In 2009 he came second at the Prague Half Marathon with a personal best of 1:00:09 hours, won the Göteborgsvarvet, was second at the Beijing Marathon. and won the Montferland Run, missing Haile Gebrselassie record by only two seconds. He ran at the 2010 Rome Marathon and finished in sixth place. Abebech Afework Bekele (born 11 December 1990) is an Ethiopian professional long-distance runner who specialises half marathon races. She has represented Ethiopia at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships and the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships. She was the 2011 winner of the Egmond Half Marathon. Philip Kiprono Langat (born 1990) is a Kenyan long-distance runner who specialises in road running events. He won the 2011 Montferland Run. He has a half marathon best of 1:01:05 and a 10K best of 27:28 minutes. After competing on the Kenyan junior cross country circuit to little success, Langat made his breakthrough in 2010 by winning the Administration Police National Cross Country Championships, having entered as a member of the public. Atsede Bayisa Tesema, also known as Atsede ''Bayisa'' (born 16 April 1987), is an Ethiopian long-distance runner who specialises in road running events.
