Elbert County is a county located in the northeastern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2020 census, the population was 19,637. The county seat is Elberton. The county was established on December 10, 1790, and was named for Samuel Elbert. Geography According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of , of which is land and (6.2%) is water.
