Monte Águila (Literally in english: "Mount Eagle") is a Chilean city in the Bío Bío Region, Bio Bio Region. Its population is 6,574. Toponymy According to the aboriginal account of the area that lived in the first half of the twentieth century, the name "Monte Águila" comes from the lonco Ñancomawida, whose name, in Mapuche language, Mapudungun, meant ''"Mount of the Eagles"'' (in Spanish language, spanish: Monte de las águilas). History Origins The origins of this town cover a space of no more than 150 years, so much so that in his book, the Chilean historian Francisco Astaburuaga makes the first reference to the city, naming it as ''"Fundo Monte Águila"''. Yumbel
Yumbel is a List of cities in Chile, city and Communes of Chile, commune of the Bío Bío Province, Province of Bío Bío in the Region of Biobio, region of the same name, Chile. History Yumbel originated from the small fort of ''San Felipe de Austria'', raised in 1585 by Royal Governor of Chile, Governor Alonso de Sotomayor, on the cerro del Centinela (Hill of the Sentinel). This fort was destroyed by the Mapuche and replaced in 1603, by Governor Alonso de Ribera as fort ''Santa Lucia de Yumbel''. Destroyed in 1621 it was rebuilt the same year. It remained in use until 1648 when it was abandoned and its garrison sent to the fort of Nacimiento, Chile. Governor Ángel de Peredo again constructed it in 1663 as fort ''Nuestra Señora de Almudena''. When Francisco de Meneses Brito populated it three years later he renamed it ''San Carlos de Austria de Yumbel''. Intermediate Depression
The Central Valley ( es, Valle Central), Intermediate Depression, or Longitudinal Valley is the depression between the Chilean Coastal Range and the Andes Mountains. Neuquén
Neuquén (; arn, Nehuenken) is the capital city of the Argentine province of Neuquén and of the Confluencia Department, located in the east of the province.
