Monte delle Figne (Figne Mountain) is a mountain in Liguria, northern Italy, part of the Ligurian Apennines. It lies at an altitude of 1172 metres. Geography The mountain is located in the provinces of Genoa and Alessandria. Is divided by ''Passo Mezzano'' (1063 m) from Monte Taccone and by ''Passo della Dagliola'' (858 m) and a saddle near Cascina Carrosina (825 m) from Monte Tobbio. Access to the summit Monte delle Figne is accessible by signposted tracks departing from Bocchetta Pass or Isoverde (municipality of Campomorone). The ''Alta Via dei Monti Liguri'' (AV, literally "High Route of the Ligurian Mountains") is a long-distance waymarked hiking trail in the Italian region of Liguria. Parco Naturale Delle Capanne Di Marcarolo
The Capanne di Marcarolo Natural Regional Park (in Italian ''Parco naturale delle Capanne di Marcarolo'') is a natural park in the province of Alessandria (Piedmont, Italy). It gets the name from a small village in the protected area, ''Capanne di Marcarolo''. History Some artificial lakes located in the park as Laghi del Gorzente were built from the end of 19th century in order to provide the city of Genova and its surrounding area with electricity and good quality freshwater. In 1944's spring a group of Italian partisans were surrounded by fascist and nazi troops on Monte Tobbio. After a fight some of them managed to break the blockade while some others were captured, transferred near Benedicta Abbey and executed by firing squads on 7 April 1944.
