Montavilla Park is a public park in Portland, Oregon's Montavilla neighborhood, in the United States. The park is located on the corner of 82nd Avenue and Glisan Street, adjacent to Multnomah University. History The park was acquired in 1921. Within the park's boundaries, the Montavilla Community Center and the Montavilla Outdoor Pool were constructed in the 1920s. Over subsequent years, the community center building experienced several renovations and expansions. Tabor Village) is a neighborhood in the Northeast and Southeast sections of Portland, Oregon, United States, and contains an area east of Mount Tabor and west of Interstate 205, from the Banfield to SE Division. It is bordered by North Tabor, Mount Tabor, Madison South, Hazelwood, and Powellhurst-Gilbert. History The neighborhood was originally, in the 1890s, named Mount Tabor Village, and was a stopping point for travelers going from Hood River into Portland. 82nd Avenue of the Roses (simply 82nd Avenue prior to 2005) is a street in Portland, Oregon, and comprises the northern end of Oregon Route 213, also known as the Cascade Highway. It is one of the longest streets in Portland, running down the entire east side of the city, and extending into suburbs to the south. The street runs from Airport Way Frontage Rd in Northeast Portland, south through Clackamas and Happy Valley, to Interstate 205 in Gladstone. Oregon 213 continues south beyond I-205. Multnomah University
Multnomah University (MU) is a private Christian university in Portland, Oregon. Composed of a college, seminary, graduate school, and online distance-learning program, the university offers bachelor's, master's and doctorate degrees, as well as professional certifications and endorsements. History On February 14, 1936, Rev. John G. Mitchell called a meeting of Portland-area ministers and Christian businessmen to discuss the idea of creating a Bible school in the Pacific Northwest. Mitchell, working with Dr. B.B. Sutcliffe, Dr. Willard Aldrich and others, founded Multnomah School of the Bible that year. Futsal is a football-based game played on a hardcourt, hard court smaller than a football pitch, and mainly indoors. It has similarities to five-a-side football and Indoor soccer, indoor football. Futsal is played between two teams of five players each, one of whom is the goalkeeper. Unlimited substitutions are permitted. The Portland Timbers are an American professional men's soccer club based in Portland, Oregon. The Timbers compete in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member club of the league's Western Conference. Joseph Owan Gibson (born November 8, 1983) is an American right-wing activist and the founder of the far-right group Patriot Prayer which has organized protests in Portland, Oregon, and other cities, primarily within the Pacific Northwest. Early life and education Gibson was born in Clark County, Washington to an Irish father and Japanese mother. He grew up in Camas, Washington with two siblings in a Catholic household. He played high school football and was a quarterback before he "got in trouble with the law." After pleading guilty to a felony theft charge in 2002, Gibson was barred from owning a gun until 2015, when he petitioned Clark County to restore access.
