Monsune is the stage name of Scott Zhang, a Canadian indie pop and synthpop musician from Toronto, Ontario. ''Certified Lover Boy'' is the sixth studio album by Canadian rapper and singer Drake, released on September 3, 2021, by OVO Sound and Republic Records. Its production was handled by frequent collaborators 40, Nineteen85, PartyNextDoor, OZ, and Vinylz, among others. Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Giveon, Jay-Z, Travis Scott, Future, Young Thug, Yebba, 21 Savage, Project Pat, Tems, Ty Dolla Sign, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, and Kid Cudi appear as guest artists. SOCAN Songwriting Prize
The SOCAN Songwriting Prize, formerly known as the ECHO Songwriting Prize, is an annual competition recognizing the best in Canadian emerging music, both anglophone and francophone. Established in 2006, the competition was designed to recognize some of the most innovative, creative and artistic songs created in the year preceding the award by emerging songwriters in Canada. Songs are selected by a competition panel composed of 10 music experts from the Canadian music scene, who each nominate two songs based on a set of criteria they believe are the best songs by emerging artists from the past year. The songs are narrowed down to a set of 10 finalists and announced publicly. Fans then vote for the winner over the course of two weeks in June. Once the winners (one anglophone and one francophone) are determined after the voting period, they each are awarded a $10,000 cash prize from SOCAN and an assortment of prizes from the yearly sponsors. ''The Eyeopener'' is one of two weekly student newspapers at Toronto Metropolitan University. It has a circulation of 10,000 copies per week during the school year. ''The Eyeopener'' is published by Rye Eye Publishing Inc., owned by the students of Toronto Metropolitan University as a non-profit corporation. Most of the writing is done by contributors (as is the case with most campus newspapers) but the paper's masthead is elected towards the end of each academic year, by the previous year's masthead and volunteers who have made a certain number of contributions. As of 2008, the minimum number of contributions to be eligible to vote is six. While contributors and editors are often students of the TMU School of Journalism, students in other programs are more than welcome to write for the paper.
