Mons A. Kårbø
Mons Andreas Andersen Kårbø (3 December 1881 – 26 December 1964) was a Norwegian leader of fishing organizations and politician for the Liberal Party of Norway, Liberal Party. He played a central role in postwar academic and economic organization of the Norwegian fishing industry. Biography He was born at Kårbø in Herdla in Hordaland, Norway as a son of farmers. He later worked as a fisher and farmer based at Kårbø, and took over the farm in 1909. From 1910 to 1913 and 1916 to 1940 he was a member of Herdla municipal council (Norway), municipal council, serving as mayor from 1919 to 1934. He was a deputy representative to the Parliament of Norway in the terms 1925–1927, 1928–1930 and 1937–1945, and was elected as a regular representative in 1930 Norwegian parliamentary election, 1930 and 1933 Norwegian parliamentary election, 1933. Liberal Party Of Norway
The Liberal Party ( no, Venstre, lit=Left, V; se, Gurutbellodat) is a centrist political party in Norway. It was founded in 1884 and it is the oldest political party in Norway. It is positioned in the centre on the political spectrum, and it is a liberal party which has over the time enacted reforms such as parliamentarism, freedom of religion, universal suffrage, and state schooling. For most of the late 19th and early 20th century, it was Norway's largest and dominant political party, but in the postwar era it lost most of its support and became a relatively small party. The party has nevertheless participated in several centrist and centre-right government coalitions in the postwar era. It currently holds eight seats in the Parliament, and was previously a part of Norway's government together with the Conservative Party and the Christian Democratic Party.
