Mononc' Serge
Mononc' Serge (real name Serge Robert) is a Québécois musician and poet who sings in French. He is best known for his vulgar lyrics and his irreverent songs making fun of local celebrities and politicians. He is also quite sardonic with the Quebec federalist movement, and their counterparts in the Rest Of Canada (R.O.C.). "Mononc' Serge" is French for "Uncle Serge". History Serge was recruited in 1991 by Dédé Fortin to play bass with Les Colocs. He stayed with the band until 1995, then began a solo career as Mononc' Serge. His 2001 album ''Mon voyage au Canada'' (''My Trip to Canada'') features one song for each Canadian province and territory, mostly poking fun at each of them. Thrash Metal
Thrash metal (or simply thrash) is an extreme subgenre of heavy metal music characterized by its overall aggression and often fast tempo.Kahn-Harris, Keith, ''Extreme Metal: Music and Culture on the Edge'', pp. 2–3, 9. Anonymus (band)
Anonymus is a Canadian thrash metal band from Montreal, Quebec, founded in 1989. Its members are Carlos Araya (drums), Oscar Souto (bass and vocals), Daniel Souto (guitar) and Jef Fortin (guitar). History The five musicians (the current members plus Marco Calliari) grew up together in Montreal and started their band in high school. In 1992, they independently released the EP ''The Dream That Lies'' and, in 1992, the EP ''Anonymus''. In 1994, also independently, they released their first album, ''Ni Vu, Ni Connu'' (Not Seen, Not Known). In 1995, they were signed to the new Montreal label Disques MPV, which paired them with the band Overbass to release the 10-track split ''Live Crash''. Dédé Fortin
André "Dédé" Fortin (17 November 1962 – 8 May 2000) was a founding member, frontman, and vocalist of the Québécois band Les Colocs, formed in 1990. Early life Fortin was born to Alfred Fortin and Gisèle Tremblay on a farm near the small village of Saint-Thomas-Didyme, in the rural Lac-Saint-Jean region of Quebec. He was the tenth of eleven children. When he was eight, the family moved to Normandin, but he always valued his childhood home. Fortin attended public schools and studied cinema at the Université de Montréal with his friend Éric Henry. Les Colocs Fortin was long interested in music and started writing song lyrics.
