Monolithic (band)
Monolithic is a synthpop music project started and maintained by Michael Babbitt. Its music includes subgenres such as breakbeat, trance, EBM, techno, industrial, and downtempo. Monolithic's music has been described as "intense", "meaningful", "emotional", and "powerful." In January 2006, Babbitt announced that he was canceling his then-upcoming Monolithic album ''Evil Behind Smiling Eyes'' to focus on other projects. MIDIhead Michael (MIDIhead) Babbitt is sole member of Monolithic. He started his music career at the age of 14 when he went to a Battle of the DJs with a box of cassette tapes. He did poorly at his first performance, coming in last place, but he learned from the experience and later trained under more experienced DJs. ''Dance Dance Revolution Ultramix 2'', or simply Ultramix 2, is a music rhythm video game released on November 18, 2004 by Konami in American markets for the Microsoft Xbox. Gameplay Music Ultramix 2 has a unique songlist compared to previous releases on other console systems. Rather than focusing on songs pulled from specific arcade versions, there is more emphasis on completely new material. This is also the first DDR release to feature licenses from ''A Different Drum'' records, a trend that would continue on throughout the Ultramix and DDR Universe series, as well as the arcade release of Dance Dance Revolution X. Akira Yamaoka
is a Japanese composer and music producer. He is best known for composing music for several video games in the ''Silent Hill'' series by Konami, among other games. Yamaoka also worked as a producer on the series, as well as composing for the ''Silent Hill'' film and its sequel. Since 2010, he has been the sound director at Grasshopper Manufacture. Early life Yamaoka attended Tokyo Art College, where he studied product design and interior design. He originally planned to follow a career in design. Career Yamaoka joined Konami on September 21, 1993. He immediately began to work on the games '' Contra: Hard Corps'', '' Sparkster'', and '' Sparkster: Rocket Knight Adventures 2''. Eric Persing is an american sound designer, professional synthesist and producer based in Los Angeles, California. He is best known as the Founder and Creative Director of the music software and virtual instrument company Spectrasonics. He has been a major contributor to all of Spectrasonics' products, including Omnisphere, Keyscape, Stylus RMX, Trilian, Atmosphere and Trilogy. Persing started working for the Roland Corporation as Chief Sound Designer from 1984 to 2004, where he worked on many influential synthesizers and music-related products such as the Roland D-50, the JD-800, the Roland JX, JV, JP, XP series synthesizers and many others.
