''Monographic sketch of Sălaj County'' ( ro, Schiţa monografică a Sălagiului) is a book about Szilágy County edited by Dr. Dionisie Stoica and Ioan P. Lazăr. The book was awarded "Andrei Mureșanu" Prize of Astra for "the best literary book of the year 1908 in Hungary." Overview The book was written and appeared in 1908, shortly before the General Annual Meeting of Astra, held between August 6 to 9, 1908 in Șimleu Silvaniei. The committee that organized celebrations attended by 380 guests consisted of the following persons: Ioan P. Lazăr, president and Coriolan Meseșian and Dionisie Stoica as secretaries. At a conference held on March 19, 1908 the leaders of the Romanian community from Szilágy County decided to invite Asociația Transilvană pentru Literatura Română și Cultura Poporului Român to hold its General Annual Meeting in Şimleu. Sălaj County () (also known as ''Land of Silvania'', ''silva, -ae'' means "forest") is a county ('' județ'') of Romania, located in the north-west of the country, in the historical regions of Crișana and Transylvania. Măeriște
Măeriște ( hu, Krasznahídvég; german: Bruckend) is a commune located in Sălaj County, Crișana, Romania. Geography The commune, with an area of 74.97 km2 (7,500 ha), is in the north-west part of the county, in the hydrographic basin of the river Crasna. It is composed of six villages: Criștelec (''Kerestelek''), Doh (''Doh''), Giurtelecu Șimleului (''Somlyógyőrtelek''), Măeriște (located at 43 km from Zalău), Mălădia (''Maladé'') and Uileacu Șimleului (''Somlyóújlak''). Bocșa ( hu, Oláhbaksa) is a commune located in Sălaj County, Crișana, Romania. It is composed of four villages: Bocșa, Borla (''Szilágyballa''), Câmpia (''Somlyómező'') and Sălăjeni (''Ököritó'').
