Monmouth Hawks
The Monmouth Hawks refer to the 23 sports teams representing Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey. The Hawks compete in the NCAA Division I and are members of the Colonial Athletic Association, joining on July 1, 2022. The football team became an NCAA Division I FCS independent schools, FCS Independent for the 2013 NCAA Division I FCS football season, 2013 season, and moved to the Big South Conference on July 1, 2014. The women's bowling program was a charter member of the Southland Bowling League, a single-sport conference formed in January 2015, but moved that sport to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference after the 2017–18 season. On January 25, 2022, Monmouth announced it would be leaving the MAAC to join the Colonial Athletic Association, effective July 1, 2022. Monmouth University
Monmouth University is a private university in West Long Branch, New Jersey. Founded in 1933 as Monmouth Junior College, it became Monmouth College in 1956 and Monmouth University in 1995 after receiving its charter. There are about 4,400 full-time and 260 part-time undergraduate and 1,750 graduate students, as well as 302 full-time faculty members. Ten-pin Bowling
Ten-pin bowling is a type of bowling in which a bowler rolls a bowling ball down a wood or synthetic lane toward ten pins positioned evenly in four rows in an equilateral triangle. The objective is to knock down all ten pins on the first roll of the ball (a strike), or failing that, on the second roll (a spare). An approximately long ''approach'' area used by the bowler to impart speed and apply rotation to the ball ends in a ''foul line''. Monmouth Hawks Women's Basketball
The Monmouth Hawks women's basketball team represents Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey, United States. The school's team currently competes in the Colonial Athletic Association. History Monmouth began play in 1982. They played in the Cosmopolitan Conference from 1982 to 1986. In 1983, the Hawks went 14–14 while winning the Cosmopolitan Conference and getting the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Competitive swimming is one of the most popular Olympic sports, with varied distance events in butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle, and individual medley. The Monmouth Hawks football program is the intercollegiate American football team for the Monmouth University located in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the upcoming 2022 season, the Hawks compete in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) as a member of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA).
