Monique Taylor (born 28 June 1972) is a Canadian politician in Ontario, Canada. She is a Ontario New Democratic Party, New Democratic member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario who represents the riding of Hamilton Mountain (provincial electoral district), Hamilton Mountain. She has been an Member of Provincial Parliament (Ontario), MPP since 2011. Background Taylor was born in east end of Hamilton and grew up in the city. Whip (politics)
A whip is an official of a political party whose task is to ensure party discipline in a legislature. This means ensuring that members of the party vote according to the party platform, rather than according to their own individual ideology or the will of their donors or constituents. Whips are the party's "enforcers". They try to ensure that their fellow political party legislators attend voting sessions and vote according to their party's official policy. Members who vote against party policy may "lose the whip", being effectively expelled from the party. The term is taken from the "whipper-in" during a hunt, who tries to prevent hounds from wandering away from a hunting pack. Myasthenia Gravis
Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a long-term neuromuscular junction disease that leads to varying degrees of skeletal muscle weakness. The most commonly affected muscles are those of the eyes, face, and swallowing. It can result in double vision, drooping eyelids, trouble talking, and trouble walking. Onset can be sudden.
