Monique Régimbald-Zeiber
Monique Régimbald-Zeiber (born April 24, 1947) is a Canadian painter. Life and work Monique Régimbald-Zeiber was born in Sorel-Tracy, Sorel, Quebec. From 1972 until 1973 she studied Russian literature at Moscow State University before returning to Canada to earn her master's degree in Russian language, Russian and literature at McGill University in 1975, followed by a PhD in 1980. Two years later, she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in visual arts from Concordia University. She lives and works in Montréal. In 1996, she co-founded a publishing house, Les Éditions les Petits Carnets, with Louise Déry. She was associate professor of painting at the University of Quebec at Montreal from 1992 to 2012. In 2010, she was included in a group exhibition titled "Expansion" and in 2012, "The Body in Question(s)", both at the University of Quebec. Sorel-Tracy
Sorel-Tracy (; ) is a city in southwestern Quebec, Canada and the geographical end point of the Champlain Valley. It is located at the confluence of the Richelieu River and the St. Lawrence River, on the western edge of Lac Saint-Pierre, downstream and northeast of Montreal. The population as of the Canada 2011 Census was 34,600. Its mayor is Patrick Péloquin and it is the seat of the Pierre-De Saurel Regional County Municipality and the judicial district of Richelieu. The city is the result of a voluntary amalgamation in 2001 between two cities, Sorel and Tracy, which developed on opposite shores of the Richelieu River: Tracy on the west shore (left) and Sorel on the east (right) shore. In 1992 Sorel had annexed the municipality of Saint-Pierre-de-Sorel; today it forms the southern part of its territory. Sorel was founded in 1642. The Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal (MACM) is a contemporary art museum in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is located on the Place des festivals in the Quartier des spectacles and is part of the Place des Arts complex. Founded in 1964, it is Canada's first museum devoted to contemporary art. Initially housed in the Place Ville-Marie, the museum moved into the premises of the Château Dufresne in 1965, followed by an exhibition gallery from Expo 67 in 1968.
