Monica De Gennaro
Monica De Gennaro Santarelli (born 8 January 1987) is an Italian professional volleyball player. She plays for Imoco Volley Conegliano and for the Italy women's national volleyball team. She competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics and 2016 Summer Olympics. She is tall. Career De Gennaro played with her national team at the 2014 World Championship. There her team ended up in fourth place after losing 2–3 to Brazil the bronze medal match. She was selected to be tournament's Best Libero. De Gennaro won the 2020–21 CEV Women's Champions League and was twice a runner-up with Imoco Volley Conegliano ( 2016-17 and 2018-19), receiving the award of Best Libero in those three editions of the Champions League. She won both the 2019 FIVB Club World Championship and the Best Libero award in China. She won the 2017 FIVB World Grand Prix silver medal and the Best Libero individual award. Piano di Sorrento ( nap, Caruotto) is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Naples in the Italian region Campania, located about southeast of Naples. FIVB World Grand Prix
The FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix was an annual women's volleyball competition created in 1993. The men's version of the competition was called World League. This event should not be confused with the other international volleyball competitions, the World Championship, the World Cup and the World Grand Champions Cup. Imoco Volley
Imoco Volley is an Italian women's volleyball club based in Conegliano and currently playing in the Serie A1. History The club was founded on 15 March 2012, two months after the bankruptcy of the other volleyball team in Conegliano. In April 2012, it acquired a Serie A1 licence from , that meant the club started playing directly at the highest Italian league. It has been playing under the name since its foundation in 2012. The club won the Serie A1 for the first time in 2015–16, winning the Italian Super Cup a few months later on 8 December 2016. On 5 March 2017, the club won the Coppa Italia for the first time after beating Liu Jo Nordmeccanica Modena 3–0 in the final. In December 2019 the club won the Women's Club World Championship. Mediterranean Games
The Mediterranean Games is a multi-sport event organised by the International Committee of Mediterranean Games (CIJM). It is held every four years among athletes from countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea in Africa, Asia and Europe. The Montreux Volley Masters (founded as the Coupe des Nations, later changed to BCV Volley Cup between 1990 and 1996 and to its current name in 1998) is an international invitational tournament for national teams in women's volleyball hosted by the Swiss Volley. Held annually in Montreux, Switzerland since 1984, it is the tournament that opens the international season for national teams. The main objective of this competition is to work as a preparation for more important and prestigious volleyball tournaments organized by the ''Fédération Internationale de Volleyball'' ( FIVB), such as the World Grand Prix, the World Championship, the World Cup and the Olympic Games. 2019 Women's European Volleyball Championship
The 2019 Women's European Volleyball Championship was the 31st edition of the Women's European Volleyball Championship, organised by Europe's governing volleyball body, the CEV from 23 August to 8 September 2019. For the first time the Women's EuroVolley was held in four countries: Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Turkey. The number of national teams participating in the event was also expanded from 16 to 24.
