Mongolian Ice Hockey Federation
The Mongolian Hockey Federation ( mn, Монголын Хоккейн Холбоо) is the governing body of ice hockey in Mongolia. It controls the six team national league in Mongolia, as well as the Mongolian national ice hockey team, whose first appearance in an IIHF event was the 2007 IIHF World Championship Division III tournament. They have since taken part in the 2008 IIHF World Championship Division III. In October 2012, their last appearance was the 2013 IIHF World Championship Division III Qualification in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Mongolian National Ice Hockey Team
The Mongolia national ice hockey team ( mn, Монголын хоккейн үндэсний шигшээ баг) is the national ice hockey team of Mongolia. They are controlled by the Mongolian Hockey Federation and a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) since 15 May 1999. Mongolia participated in several World Championship tournaments from late 2000s to early 2010s, but since 2013, have only played in the Challenge Cup of Asia, a regional tournament for lower-tier hockey nations in Asia. IIHF
The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF; french: Fédération internationale de hockey sur glace; german: Internationale Eishockey-Föderation) is a worldwide governing body for ice hockey. It is based in Zurich, Switzerland, and has 83 member countries. The IIHF maintains the IIHF World Ranking based on international ice hockey tournaments. Rules of play for IIHF events differ from hockey in North America and the rules of the National Hockey League (NHL). Decisions of the IIHF can be appealed through the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne, Switzerland. The IIHF maintains its own hall of fame for international ice hockey. The 2008 IIHF World Championship Division III tournament was held from March 31 to April 4, 2008, in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg at the Kockelscheuer ice rink. The 2013 IIHF World Championship Division III was an international Ice hockey tournament run by the International Ice Hockey Federation. Group A was contested in Cape Town, South Africa, from 15 to 21 April 2013 and the qualification tournament was contested in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, from 14 to 17 October 2012.
