Mongolian Chess Championship
The Mongolian Chess Championship is currently organized by the Mongolian Chess Federation ( mn, Монголын Шатрын Холбоо). The first national championship was held in 1948 and the first women's championship was held in 1954. Bazar Khatanbaatar holds the record for most national championships won, with eight; Tsagaan Battsetseg leads in women's titles with seven. Püreviin Jigjidsüren ( mn, Пүрэвийн Жигжидсүрэн; born 15 May 1947 in Aldarkhaan, Zavkhan) is a Mongolian chess FIDE International Master (IM) (1988), FIDE Trainer (2015), and a Mongolian Chess Championship winner (1985). Biography From the 1970s to the 1980s Püreviin Jigjidsüren was one of Mongolian leading chess players. In 1988 he won the Mongolian Chess Championship. Tsegmediin Batchuluun ( mn, Цэгмэдийн Батчулуун; born 4 February 1987) is a Mongolian chess player. He was awarded the title of International Master (IM) by FIDE in 2009, Grandmaster (GM) by FIDE in 2012. Chess career Batchuluun Tsegmed is the Mongolian peak -ranked chess grandmaster of all time, and his international ranking of 2571 is still the highest ranking in Mongolia. He is the only chess player from Mongolia who represented his country 7 times in the World Chess Olympiad and successfully participated the World Cup for the first time.
