Monfort Ma'alot
Monfort Ma'alot is an Israeli ice hockey team in the city of Ma'alot. The team plays in the Israeli League, the top level of ice hockey in the country. History The club was founded in 1999, and won the Israeli League for the first time a year later. The club won back-to-back titles in 2002 and 2003, and won their fourth Israeli Championship in 2010. Ma'alot took part in the IIHF Continental Cup in the 2001, 2003, and 2004 seasons. In 2001, they were paired with KHK Crvena Zvezda, HC Levski Sofia, and Istanbul Paten Kulübü, and finished with one win and two losses. In the 2003 season, they lost all three games. In 2004, they lost all three games to KHL Medveščak, DAB-Docler, and HC Levski Sofia. Ma'alot
Ma'alot-Tarshiha ( he, מַעֲלוֹת-תַּרְשִׁיחָא; ar, معالوت ترشيحا, ''Maʻālūt Taršīḥā'') is a city in the North District in Israel, some east of Nahariya, about above sea level. The city was established in 1963 through a municipal merger of the Arab town of Tarshiha and the Jewish town of Ma'alot, creating a unique type of Israeli mixed city. IIHF Continental Cup
The Continental Cup is a second-level ice hockey tournament for European clubs (behind Champions Hockey League), begun in 1997 after the discontinuing of the European Cup. It was intended for teams from countries without representatives in the European Hockey League, with participating teams chosen by the countries' respective ice hockey associations. Hans Dobida served as chairman of the Continental Cup until 2018. Format The competition began in 1997–98 with 42 clubs from 26 countries, which expanded to 48 teams for the next two years. The tournament was played in seeded rounds of qualifying groups. There were three rounds of qualifying groups, with winners of qualifying groups progressing to the next round. Sportski klub za hokej na ledu Crvena zvezda is an ice hockey club from Belgrade, Serbia, currently playing in the International Hockey League and the Serbian Hockey League. The club is a part of the SD Crvena Zvezda sports association. SKHL Crvena zvezda was established in 1946 and played in the Yugoslav Ice Hockey League until 1991. HC Levski Sofia is an ice hockey team in Sofia, Bulgaria. They are part of the Levski Sofia sports club, and have played in the Bulgarian Hockey League since 1953. History The club was founded as HK Dinamo Sofia in 1953. After six years they became HK Levski Sofia, before merging with Spartak Sofia in 1969 to form Levski-Spartak Sofia. They won seven titles as Levski-Spartak from 1976-1982. In 1990, they took on their present name, HK Levski Sofia, and won four titles in the 1990s.
