Bob Monette
Robert "Bob" Monette (born February 18, 1952) is a politician in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. He first joined political life in 1985 when he served on the Cumberland City Council for six years. Monette returned to serve on the Ottawa City Council in January 2006 in a by-election and was then reelected in November 2006 and October 2010. Prior to being elected, Monette served as the constituency office manager to MPP Phil McNeely of the Ontario Liberal Party. He ran for the Liberal Party of Canada nomination for the 1988 Canadian federal election but lost. David G. Monette (born 1956, Kalamazoo, Michigan) is an American craftsman who designs and builds custom brass instruments and mouthpieces for musicians. Monette's experience as a trumpeter and the influence of acoustician Arthur Benade led Monette to redesign the trumpet mouthpiece with the goal of improving playability and sound quality. Since the first mouthpieces reached the market in 1985, Monette has made mouthpieces for tuba, trombone, Bb, C ,D, Eb trumpet, and A and Bb piccolo trumpet. He has designed mouthpieces and trumpets for Maynard Ferguson, Wynton Marsalis and Charles Schlueter, as well as tubist Chester Schmitz. Paul Landry Monette (October 16, 1945 – February 10, 1995) was an American author, poet, and activist best known for his books about gay relationships. Early life and career Monette was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, and graduated from Phillips Academy in 1963 and Yale University in 1967. The rigid social confines of his suburban, middle-class upbringing placed Monette in a position where life in the closet seemed to be the only option. For the majority of Monette's childhood, he felt suffocated and alienated by the strict, religious atmosphere in which he was raised. Monette would later describe this life in the closet as hindering his personal development as a child, as he was forced to deny a part of his identity that was seen as sinful by everyone around him. Ray Monette is an American musician born on May 7, 1946. He started his career as a session musician with Motown. He was also a songwriter and, in 1967 Detroit started a band called The Abstract Reality, who released a 45 rpm single "Love Burns Like A Fire Inside". (Note: side B: ib. instrumental version) He formed Scorpion with Mike Campbell, Bob 'Babbitt' Kreinar and Andrew Smith. Richard Jean Monette CM, DHum, LLD (June 19, 1944 – September 9, 2008), was a Canadian actor and director, best known for his 14-season tenure as the longest-serving artistic director of the Stratford Festival of Canada from 1994 to 2007. Early life Monette was born in Montreal, the son of Florence M. (née Tondino) and Maurice Monette. He was educated at Loyola High School (Montreal) and Loyola College (now Concordia University). Monette was the nephew of Canadian painter Gentile Tondino.
