Monella (film)
''Monella'' (titled ''Frivolous Lola'' in the UK) is a 1998 Italian comedy-erotic film directed by Tinto Brass. Plot Lola (Anna Ammirati) is the teenage daughter of widow Zaira (Serena Grandi) living in a small Po Valley town (filming location is the ''comune'' of Pomponesco and Dosolo) in the 1950s. She is engaged to young Masetto ( Max Parodi credited as Mario Parodi), who firmly believes in girls' virginity before marriage. They are soon to get married, but she is very much intrigued by sex, and further provoked by the antics of her libertine stepfather André (Patrick Mower Patrick Mower (born Patrick Archibald Shaw; 12 September 1938) is an English actor who has portrayed the role of Rodney Blackstock in the ITV soap opera ''Emmerdale'' since 2000. Tinto Brass
Giovanni "Tinto" Brass (born 26 March 1933) is an Italian film director and screenwriter. In the 1960s and 1970s, he directed many critically acclaimed avant-garde films of various genres. Today, he is mainly known for his later work in the erotic genre, with films such as '' Caligula'', '' Così fan tutte'' (released under the English title ''All Ladies Do It''), '' Paprika'', '' Monella'' (''Frivolous Lola'') and ''Trasgredire''. Zuzana "Susanna" Martinková (born 19 April 1946) is a Czech actress, mainly active in Italy. Born in Prague, Martinkova debuted at 16 as lead actress in ''Letos v zari'' (1963). After several film and stage appearances, in 1967 she moved to Italy to star in a war film directed by Carlo Lizzani, ''Sagapò'', which eventually was cancelled. Later Martinkova starred in a number of films and television works, sometimes in main roles. She is now a winemaker. "sex comedy Italian style"), also known as commedia scollacciata or commedia erotica all'italiana, is a subgenre of Italian ''commedia all'italiana'' film genre. Style ''Commedia sexy'' is characterized typically by both abundant female nudity and comedy, and by the minimal weight given to social criticism that was the basic ingredient of the main ''commedia all'italiana'' genre. Stories are often set in affluent environments such as wealthy households. It is closely connected to the sexual revolution, and it was something extremely new and innovative for that period.
