Ramón Rodríguez Jiménez (born 13 September 1999), commonly known as Monchu, is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Segunda División club Valladolid. Career Barcelona Born in Palma, Majorca, Balearic Islands, Monchu joined FC Barcelona's youth setup in 2012, from RCD Mallorca. After progressing through the youth setup, he made his senior debut with the reserves on 15 December 2017, coming on as a second-half substitute for Oriol Busquets in a 3–1 away loss against Cádiz CF in the Segunda División. Monchu made his first team debut on 8 August 2020, coming off the bench in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 second leg against SSC Napoli. The 2020 Segunda División B play-offs (Playoffs de Ascenso or Promoción de Ascenso) are the final play-offs for promotion from 2019–20 Segunda División B to the 2020–21 Segunda División. The 2019–20 Segunda División B season was the 43rd since its establishment. Eighty teams participated, distributed in four groups of twenty clubs each. On 11 March 2020, the season of Segunda División B was suspended due to the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic in Spain. On 6 May 2020, the Royal Spanish Football Federation announced the premature end of the league, revoking all relegations and planning an eventual promotion playoff to be played if possible. Also, the expansion of the league to five groups of 20 teams each for the 2020–21 season (due to promotion from the curtailed Tercera División groups being applied) was approved. In professional association football, a free transfer, also known as a Bosman transfer, involves a professional association football club releasing a player when the player's contract has expired or made available just before the end of the contract.
