''Monardiella'' is a genus of leaf beetles in the subfamily Eumolpinae. ''Mondardiella'' can be found in Africa. Physical features The species of ''Monardiella'' are described as insects with antennal segments approximately three to six twice as long as broad, body segments seven to ten much longer than broad, reaching more than half-way down the elytra, or forewings. They have elongated tarsi and femur with a well-developed tooth. ''Monardiella'' setae, bristles, can be found on the elytra of two types: one is curved, adpressed, laterally-flattened and tending to form bands, the other straight, upright and often of even distribution. The pronotum of ''Monardiella'' are not domed and have indistinct margins. Maurice Pic (23 March 1866, in Marrigny near Digoin – 29 December 1957, in Les Guerreaux) was a French entomologist who specialised in Coleoptera. He contributed to Mary-Louis Fauconnet's ''Catalogue raisonné des coléoptères de Saône-et-Loire'' (Le Creusot, Martet, 1887) and wrote many short papers, many in ''L'Échange, Revue Linnéenne'' describing world beetles. Eumolpinae
The Eumolpinae are a subfamily of the leaf beetles, or Chrysomelidae. It is one of the largest subfamilies of leaf beetles, including more than 500 genera and 7000 species. They are oval, and convex in form, and measure up to 10 mm in size. Typical coloration for this subfamily of beetles ranges from bright yellow to dark red. Many species are iridescent or brilliantly metallic blue or green in appearance. Description Eumolpinae can be recognized at first sight by their rounded thoraces, more or less spherical or bell-shaped, but always significantly narrower than the mesothorax as covered by the elytra. Pronotum
