Monaco National Football Team
The Monaco national football team is a national side that represents Monaco in association football. The team is controlled by the Monégasque Football Federation, the governing body for all football in Monaco. Monaco is not a member of FIFA or UEFA, and therefore cannot enter the FIFA World Cup nor the UEFA European Championship. Monaco was a founding member of the N.F.-Board in 2003, and finished second in the 2006 VIVA World Cup inaugural edition. However, due to political opposition, Monaco severed ties with the organization in 2010. History Beginnings After the foundation of the Monégasque Football Federation in April 2000, Monaco played its first match in June of the same year against Gibraltar, losing 5–0. Monégasque Football Federation
The Monégasque Football Federation (french: Fédération Monégasque de Football, FMF) is the governing body of football in the nation of Monaco. The association is not a member of FIFA or UEFA, but it does have membership to the NF-Board and its successor CONIFA. The FMF runs the national football team and the three domestic cup tournaments played in the principality. Organization The Monégasque Football Federation was founded in 2000 and accepted by the country's government on 27 April. There is a small board of six people of Monégasque descent who are elected for four year terms to run the organisation. They aim to allow their members to play football together and organize friendlies. 2009 VIVA World Cup
The 2009 VIVA World Cup was the third VIVA World Cup, an international tournament for football open to non-FIFA-affiliated teams, played in Padania. Three venues were bidding to host the tournament in 2010 : * Padania ( Italy) * Iraqi Kurdistan ( Iraq) * Gozo ( Malta) At the NF-Board general meeting in Milan (Italy), on 13 December 2008, it was decided to hold the Viva World Cup annually. The 2010 edition will be played in Gozo and priority was given to Iraqi Kurdistan to host the 2011 tournament. Occitania originally finished 5th, but having made one more substitution than allowed, the result was overturned, leaving Gozo as the winners of the 5th place playoff. The Tibet national football team is a association football, football team that represents the cultural region of Tibet in Non-FIFA football, non-FIFA international tournaments, and is organised by the Tibetan National Football Association (TNFA), an organisation of exiled Tibetans. Many of the players are in exile and are represented by the Central Tibetan Administration, Tibetan Government in Exile. Gibraltar National Football Team
The Gibraltar national football team represents Gibraltar in international football competitions, and is controlled by the Gibraltar Football Association. Gibraltar applied for full UEFA membership and was accepted by the UEFA Congress in May 2013. It can therefore compete in the UEFA European Championship starting with the 2016 tournament for which the team competed in UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying Group D. On 13 May 2016 Gibraltar became a member of FIFA at the governing body's 66th Congress which was held in Mexico City.
