"Mona (I Need You Baby)" is a song written by Ellas McDaniel (Bo Diddley) and was the B-side to his 1957 single "Hey! Bo Diddley". According to Diddley's obituary in ''The New York Times'', "Mona" was a song of praise he wrote for a 45-year-old exotic dancer who worked at the Flame Show Bar in Detroit. The song also became the template for Buddy Holly's " Not Fade Away". Mona is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Mitchell County, Iowa, United States. As of the 2010 Census the population of Mona was 34. Mona is located in the northern portion of Mitchell County, one mile south of the Minnesota border, along U.S. Route 218 Demographics History Mona got its start in the year 1869, following construction of the Illinois Central Railroad through that territory. Mona Lake is a freshwater lake located in Norton Shores just outside the city of Muskegon in the U.S. state of Michigan ( Muskegon County). The Mona Islands or Mohn Islands (russian: Острова Мона) is a group of a few scattered small islands covered with tundra vegetation. They are located in the Kara Sea, about 30 km north of the western coast of the Taymyr Peninsula in Siberia, Russia. Mona ( es, Isla de Mona) is the third-largest island of the Puerto Rican archipelago, after the main island of Puerto Rico and Vieques.
