Momodu Koroma
Momodu Koroma (born 1956 in Yonibana, Tonkolili District, Sierra Leone Colony and Protectorate, British Sierra Leone) is a Sierra Leonean politician. He is a former foreign minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and a member of the Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP). He became foreign minister in May 2002, as part of a new cabinet appointed following President Ahmed Tejan Kabbah's re-election earlier in the month. Koroma had previously been Minister of Presidential Affairs. Koroma was born in the small town of Yonibana in the Tonkolili District, his father was from the Temne people, Temne ethnic group, while his mother came from the Mende people, Mende ethnic group. It is very rare in Sierra Leone to see inter-ethnic marriages between Sierra Leone's two largest ethnic group the Temne and Mende. Yonibana is a small rural town in Tonkolili District in the Northern Province of Sierra Leone. It is the centre of the Yoni Chiefdom The vast majority of its population are from the Temne ethnic group and the Temne language is widely spoken in the town. All People's Congress
The All People's Congress (APC) is one of the two major political parties in Sierra Leone, the other being its main political rival the Sierra Leone People's Party (SLPP). The APC has been the main opposition party in Sierra Leone since 4 April 2018 when Julius Maada Bio of the SLPP won the 2018 presidential elections, though it maintains a majority in parliament. The APC party was founded in 1960 by a breakaway group from the Sierra Leone People's Party that vehemently opposed elections before independence and instead supported independence before elections. Tonkolili District is a district in the Northern Province of Sierra Leone. Its capital and largest city is Magburaka. The other major towns include Masingbi, Yele, Mile 91, Bumbuna, Yonibana, Matotoka. Mathora, Magbass and Masanga. Tonkolili District is home to the largest sugar factory in Sierra Leone, and one of the largest sugar factories in West Africa, that is located in the town of Magbass. Tonkolili District had a population of 530,776. The district occupies a total area of and comprises eleven chiefdoms.
