''Mommy Don't Love Daddy Anymore'' is the fourth album by American Christian rock band Resurrection Band, released in 1981. Recording history Resurrection Band's move toward a more pop-influenced hard rock sound is solidified on this release, which in many ways is a continuation of the lyrical themes and musical sounds first expressed on ''Colours''. A small hint of the band's future incorporation of new wave keyboard stylings can also be heard on the closing track, "Lovin' You." Once again, social issues (" Elevator Muzik" humorously trashes American materialism, "The Chair" addresses the plight of paraplegics, and the title track deals with the destructive effects of divorce on children), spiritual struggles ("The Crossing," "Alienated" and "Can't Do It on My Own") and evangelistic challenges to the listener ("First Degree Apathy" and "Stark/Spare") dominate the songs on the record. Resurrection Band, also known as Rez Band or REZ, was a Christian rock band formed in 1972. They were part of the Jesus People USA Christian community in Chicago and most of its members have continued in that community to this day. Known for their blend of blues-rock and hard rock, Resurrection Band is credited as one of the forerunners of the Christian metal genre. ''Christianity Today'' called them "the most influential band in Christian music history." A gatefold cover or gatefold LP is a form of packaging for LP records that became popular in the mid-1960s. A gatefold cover, when folded, is the same size as a standard LP cover (i.e., a 12½ inch, or 32.7 centimetre square). Glenn Kaiser (born January 21, 1953) is a Chicago-based Christian blues musician, singer, songwriter and pastor. He was the leader of Resurrection Band and is currently the leader of The Glenn Kaiser Band. Personal life Childhood Kaiser's older brother and sister left the house while he was still young and his parents divorced when he was nine years old. Kaiser was active in Milwaukee's music scene, starting at the age of twelve, and was a member of more than twelve bands, leading two, before reaching nineteen years of age.
