Molinos (TransMilenio)
The intermediate station Molinos is part of the TransMilenio mass-transit system of Bogotá, Colombia, opened in the year 2000. Location The station is located in southern Bogotá, specifically on Avenida Caracas with Carrera 9 and Calle 51 sur. It serves the Molinos del Sur and Molinos de la Caracas. With feeder service, it also serves the La Picota and Diana Turbay neighborhoods. History At the beginning of 2001, the second phase of the Caracas line of the system was opened from Tercer Milenio to the intermediate station Calle 40 Sur. A few months later, service was extended south to Portal de Usme. The station is named Molinos due to its proximity to the Molinos del Sur and Molinos de la Caracas neighborhoods. Rancho Rio de los Molinos was a Mexican land grant in present-day Tehama County, California given in 1844 by Governor Manuel Micheltorena to Albert Gallatin Toomes. "Rio de los Molinos" means "River of the Mills". The long narrow grant extended along the east side of the Sacramento River from Dye Creek on the north, to Toomes Creek on the south, and encompassed present-day Los Molinos. History Albert Gallatin Toomes (1817–1872) was born in Missouri and came to California via New Mexico with the Workman-Rowland Party in 1841. He moved to Monterey where he married Maria Isabel Lorenzana (1822–1878) in 1844. Toomes and Robert Hasty Thomes became partners in a carpentry business in Monterey. Battle Of Arroyo Dos Molinos
The Battle of Arroyo dos Molinos took place on 28 October 1811 during the Peninsular War. An allied force under General Rowland Hill trapped and defeated a French force under General Jean-Baptiste Girard, forcing the latter's dismissal by the Emperor Napoleon. A whole French infantry division and a brigade of cavalry were destroyed as viable fighting formations. 3 Molinos Resort () was a short-lived professional continental cycling team based in Spain and participated in the UCI Europe Tour When selected the team got a wildcard to UCI ProTour events. '3 Molinos' was founded in 2006 as a professional continental team, but this proved to be their last as funding was withdrawn due to doping scandals. ''Molinos'' is the third studio album by Canadian worldbeat/Celtic rock band The Paperboys. After the success of their second album ''Late as Usual'' (1994), Neill Burnett and Moritz Behm left the band and were replaced by Shannon Saunders and Shona LeMotte, both of whom came from musical families and had been steeped in Celtic and bluegrass traditions for years. After a tour of the United States, flutist Hanz Araki joined the band in 1996. The new members of the band drew the band into an increasingly world music-based direction, and began work on ''Molinos'' shortly afterwards. The band recorded the album at Vancouver's Mushroom Studios with rock producer John Webster in spring and summer 1997. Miguel de Molinos (baptised 29 June 1628 – 29 December 1696) was a Spanish mystic, the chief representative of the religious revival known as Quietism. Biography He was born in 1628 near Muniesa (Teruel), in Aragon, a village around south of Zaragoza. His birthdate is unknown, but church records indicate he was baptised on 29 June 1628. He moved to Valencia in his youth and undertook religious education with the Jesuits there at the College of St Paul.Robert P Baird, 'Introduction: Part One', in Miguel de Molinos, ''The Spiritual Guide'', ed and trans by Robert P Baird, (New York: Paulist Press, 2010), pp1-20.
