Mojmir Sepe
Mojmir Sepe (11 July 1930 – 24 December 2020), nicknamed ''Mojzes'', was a Slovenian composer, conductor, arranger and trumpeter. Career In 1949, he graduated from Celje First Grammar School ( gymnasium) in Celje. Later he studied piano and trumpet at Ljubljana Academy of Music. In 1950, he started his professional music career as a promising trumpet player at Radio Ljubljana Dance Orchestra. In 1956, Sepe married Slovenian singer Majda Sepe. He also established the jazz Mojmir Sepe Band (), which published the first jazz vinyl record in Yugoslavia. His trumpet career ended after an altercation at Opatija Festival '65 when four guys knocked out a couple of his front teeth as he defended her from having her purse stolen. He committed to composing and conducting, mostly influenced by jazz and swing music. He collaborated with several Slovenian poets who wrote lyrics for his arrangements. Jazbina, Črna Na Koroškem
Jazbina () is a dispersed settlement in the hills east of Črna na Koroškem in the Slovenian Carinthia, Carinthia region in northern Slovenia. There is a church (building), church in the settlement, built on the peak of Mount St. Ursula ( sl, Uršlja gora) at an elevation of 1,699 m. It is dedicated to Saint Ursula and belongs to the Parish of Stari trg, Slovenj Gradec, Stari Trg. It is a pilgrimage church that started being built around 1570, but was only completed in the early 17th century and was dedicated in 1602. The bell tower, belfry dates to 1614. ''Bojan the Bear'' ( sl, Medved Bojan) is the title and the protagonist of the Slovenian animation children's television series. It's the best-known and most successful Slovenian cartoon series. Bojan the Bear is a painter who paints his own world with three colours. A friend of his enters the world, using two other colours - white and black - to paint glaciers. "Pridi, dala ti bom cvet" ( en, "Come closer, I'll give you a flower") is a song that served as 's entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 1970. The song marked the third of four occasions in which Yugoslavia's entry was performed in Slovene. It was sung by 18-year-old Slovenian music newcomer Eva Sršen. Pesma Evrovizije 1970 Sršen won the right to compete for Yugoslavia after winning ''Pesma Evrovizije 1970'', held on February 14, 1970, where she competed against 14 other performers. Sršen performed fifth at the final and at the end of voting, "Pridi, dala ti bom cvet" received 26 points from the nine member jury, placing her first. This allowed the Socialist Republic of Slovenia to represent the whole of Yugoslavia in Amsterdam. Eva Sršen (born 1951 in Ljubljana) is a Slovenian singer, who had a short career in Yugoslav pop music in the first half of the 1970s. Yugoslavia was present at the Eurovision Song Contest 1966, held in Luxembourg, Luxembourg. Ivan Minatti
Ivan Minatti (22 March 1924 – 9 June 2012) was a Slovene poet, translator, and editor. He started writing poetry before World War II, but principally belongs to the first postwar generation of Slovene poets. He is one of the best representatives of Slovene Intimism. Life Minatti was born in 1924 in Slovenske Konjice in northeastern Slovenia. His family moved first to Slovenj Gradec and then to Ljubljana while he was still a child. He attended Gymnasium in Ljubljana, finished it in 1943, and then enrolled in medical studies, but postponed his education to join the Partisans in 1944. After the war, he studied Slavic studies at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ljubljana and graduated in 1952. He worked as an editor at Mladinska Knjiga publishers from 1947 until his retirement in 1984. He became a regular member of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts in 1991.
