Moin Nawaz Warraich
Moin Nawaz Warraich ( ur, ; born 22 February 1949) is a Pakistani politician and retired military officer who was a member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab from May 2013 to May 2018. Early life and education Warraich was born on 22 February 1949 in Gujrat to Gul Nawaz Warraich. He graduated from Pakistan Military Academy in 1970. Military career Warraich is a Pakistan Army officer and has served as a Major until his retirement in 1995. Political career Warraich ran for the seat of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab as a candidate of Pakistan Peoples Party from Constituency PP-109 (Gujrat) in 2002 Pakistani general election but was unsuccessful. Gujrat ( Punjabi and ur, ) is a city in the Punjab Province of Pakistan. It is the capital of Gujrat District and it is the 21st largest city of Pakistan by population. Along with the nearby cities of Sialkot and Gujranwala, Gujrat forms part of the ''Golden Triangle'' of industrial cities with export-oriented economies. Pakistan Military Academy ( ur, ), also referred to by its acronym PMA. PMA is an officers training school located near Kakul village in the city and district of Abbottabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa established in 1947. It is the sole service academy in Pakistan tasked with transforming cadets into Army Officers. For educational training, the institution is accredited by NUST. Cadets have to go through 2 years of rigorous military training until they can finally be termed an Officer. General elections were held in Pakistan on Saturday 11 May 2013 to elect the members of the 14th National Assembly and the four Provincial Assemblies. The three major parties were the Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N) led by Nawaz Sharif, the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) led by President Asif Ali Zardari and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led by Imran Khan.
