Mohsen Qomi
Mohsen Qomi ( fa, محسن قمی) is an Iranian cleric, conservative politician and a member of the Assembly of Experts. Career Qomi is a cleric and has the title of Hojjatal Islam. He is a member of the board of trustees of the Islamic Coalition Society. In 2016, he joined Combatant Clergy Association. He has been a member of the Assembly of Experts, representing Tehran. He was also elected to the fourth assembly in 2011, again representing Tehran. Until his resignation in January 2006 Qomi was the director of the Supreme Leader Khamanei's representative office in the Iranian universities. The same date he was named a member to the high council of cultural revolution and also the council of the representative office in the Iranian universities. He has also been serving as the deputy head of the Supreme Leader's office on international affairs and communications. Assembly Of Experts
The Assembly of Experts ( fa, مجلس خبرگان رهبری, majles-e khobregân-e rahbari), also translated as the Assembly of Experts of the Leadership or as the Council of Experts, is the deliberative body empowered to appoint the Supreme Leader of Iran. All directly elected members must first be vetted by the Guardian Council. All candidates to the Assembly of Experts must be approved by the Guardian Council whose members are, in turn, appointed either directly or indirectly by the Supreme Leader. The Assembly consists of 88 Mujtahids that are elected(see Article 108 of the constitution) from lists of thoroughly vetted candidates (in 2016 166 candidates were approved by the Guardians out of 801 who applied to run for the office), by direct public vote for eight-year terms. The number of members has ranged from 82 elected in 1982 to 88 elected in 2016. Current laws require the assembly to meet at least twice every six months. The president has the authority to introduce members of his cabinet to the Iranian Parliament for confirmation under the Constitution of Iran. Combatant is the legal status of an individual who has the right to engage in hostilities during an armed conflict. The legal definition of "combatant" is found at article 43(2) of Protocol I, Additional Protocol I (AP1) to the Geneva Conventions of 1949. It states that "Members of the armed forces of a Party to a conflict (other than medical personnel and chaplains covered by Article 33 of the Third Convention) are combatants, that is to say, they have the right to participate directly in hostilities." Consequently, on the other hand combatants, as a rule, are legal targets themselves for the opposite side regardless the specific circumstances at hand, in other words, they can be attacked regardless of the specific circumstances simply due to their status, so as to deprive their side of their support. Mahmoud Alavi
Al-Zobb Mahmoud Alavi ( fa, محمود علوی; born 4 May 1954) is an Iranian conservative politician, and formerly minister of intelligence in Hassan Rouhani's government. Early life Alavi was born in Lamerd, Fars province, in 1954. He holds a PhD in Islamic jurisprudence and law from Ferdowsi University in Mashad. Career Alavi is a cleric and a scholar of Islamic jurisprudence. He holds the religious rank of Ayatollah.
