Aleksander Piotr Mohl
Aleksander Piotr Mohl (alt. The estate was destroyed in World War I, and today the Technical College occupies its grounds, while still standing are the stables, servant quarters as well as the park. Julius Von Mohl
Julius von Mohl (25 October 1800 – 4 January 1876) was a German Orientalist. Life The brother of Hugo von Mohl and Robert von Mohl, he was born at Stuttgart. He abandoned the idea of entering the Lutheran ministry, and in 1823 went to Paris, at that time, under Silvestre de Sacy, the major European school of Eastern letters. From 1826 to 1833 he was nominally professor at Tübingen, but had permission to continue his studies abroad, and passed some years in London and Oxford. He resigned his chair at Tübingen in 1834, and settled permanently in Paris. In 1844 he was nominated to the Academy of Inscriptions, and in 1847 he became professor of Persian at the Collège de France. But his knowledge and interest extended to all departments of Oriental learning. He served for many years as secretary, and then as president of the Société Asiatique. Mary Elizabeth Mohl or Mary Elizabeth Clarke (22 February 1793 – 15 May 1883) was a British writer who was known as a salon hostess in Paris. She was known by her nickname of "Clarkey". She was admired for her independence and conversation. She eventually married the orientalist Julius von Mohl. She was an ardent Francophile, a feminist, and a close friend of Florence Nightingale. She wrote about her interest in the history of women's rights. Robert Von Mohl
Robert von Mohl (17 August 1799 – 4 November 1875) was a German jurist. Father of diplomat Ottmar von Mohl and salonnière Anna von Helmholtz. Brother of Hugo von Mohl, Moritz Mohl and Julius von Mohl. From 1824 to 1845 he was professor of political sciences at the University of Tübingen, losing his position because of some frank criticisms which brought him under the displeasure of the authorities of Württemberg. In 1847 he was a member of the parliament of Württemberg, and in the same year he was appointed professor of law at Heidelberg; in 1848 he was a member of the German Parliament which met at Frankfurt and for a few months he was minister of justice. He was also a member of parliament in the Reichstag. From 1827 to 1846, he was a professor of ''Staatswissenschaften'' (political science and political economics) of the University of Tübingen. Hugo Von Mohl
Hugo von Mohl FFRS HFRSE (8 April 1805 – 1 April 1872) was a German botanist from Stuttgart. He was the first person to use the word "protoplasm". Life He was a son of the Württemberg statesman Benjamin Ferdinand von Mohl (1766–1845), the family being connected on both sides with the higher class of state officials of Württemberg. While a pupil at the gymnasium, he pursued botany and mineralogy in his leisure time, till in 1823 he entered the University of Tübingen. After graduating with distinction in medicine he went to Munich, where he met a distinguished circle of botanists, and found ample material for research. This seems to have determined his career as a botanist, and he started in 1828 those anatomical investigations which continued till his death. Ottmar Von Mohl
Ottmar von Mohl (17 January 1846 – 23 March 1922) was a German diplomat and government advisor in Meiji period Japan. Ottmar von Mohl, born in Tübingen, Germany was the son of famous jurist Robert von Mohl. He studied law at the University of Tübingen, passed the first Baden State Examination in 1868 and earned a doctorate in law from the University of Heidelberg the same year. In 1873, he was appointed cabinet secretary of Empress Augusta of Saxe-Weimar. His diplomatic career led him to Cincinnati, Ohio in the United States in 1879 and to Saint Petersburg, Russia in 1885 as German consul. He was recruited by the Meiji period Japanese government as a foreign advisor from 1887 to 1889. He and his wife, Wanda von Mohl (née Countess von der Groeben), served with the Japanese Imperial Household Ministry in Tokyo, Japan to introduce European Court ceremonials and protocols to Japanese Emperor Meiji and his court. Ernst Friedrich von Mohl (July 20, 1849 – January 8, 1929) was a German ''classical philologist'' and professor. Mohl studied philosophy at the University of Tübingen and became a member of Landsmannschaft Schottland. It was during this time that he became a lifelong friend of Alexander von Zagareli. Mount Mohl
Mount Mohl () is a mountain, high, at the east side of Vinson Massif, surmounting the ridge between the heads of Dater Glacier and Thomas Glacier, in the Sentinel Range of the Ellsworth Mountains, Antarctica. It is connected to Doyran Heights to the northeast by Goreme Col. The peak was first mapped by the United States Geological Survey from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos from 1957 to 1959, and was named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names for Commander Edgar A. Bertel Møhl (2 January 1936 – 13 September 2017) was a Danish marine zoologist and physiologist. He contributed significantly to the understanding of auditory physiology and bioacoustics of bats and marine mammals. Bertel Møhl was born in Copenhagen in 1936, as oldest son of paleozoologist and Taxidermy, taxidermist Ulrik Møhl and Pottery, potter Felix Møhl (born Elka Lütken Petersen).
