Mohanur
Mohanur (Tamil : மோகனூர் ) is a taluk in the Namakkal district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The Mohanur Panchayat Union includes Mohanur Town, Pettapalayam, Manappalli, Rasipalayam, Kumaripalayam, Sengappalli, Ediyar, Peramandampalayam, Ariyur, Aniyapuram, and Valayapatti. It is linked to Tiruchirappalli, Salem, Erode, and Karur districts by road. Etymology Several reasons are offered for the origin of the name. # One reason given is that the people of this region worked as middle men or agents in the ancient era. Mugavar is the term in Tamizh for agents. So the place came to be known as Mugavanur which derived later on as Moganur. # Another reason is that Lord Shiva wanted to see the reincarnation of Lord Vishnu as a woman i.e. Mohini, here in this location. # Another reason goes that once all the heavenly devas went in search of Lord Shiva accompanied by Ganga. Navaladi Karuppuswami Temple
Arulmigu Navaladi Karuppannaswami Temple – Mohanur is a 500-1000 year-old temple in Mohanur, Namakkal District, Tamil Nadu, India. Its presiding deity is Karuppu Sami, also known as Navaladian and Judge Durai and known as Pattamarathan. Namakkal District
Namakkal District is one of the 38 districts (an districts of Tamil Nadu, administrative district) in the States and territories of India, state of Tamil Nadu, India. The district was bifurcated from Salem District with Namakkal town as headquarters on 25 July 1996 and started to function independently from 1 January 1997. The district has seven taluks (subdivisions): Tiruchengode, Namakkal, Rasipuram, Velur, Tamil Nadu, Paramathi Velur, Sendamangalam, Kumarapalayam, Kolli Hills and Mohanur. Natarajan Chandrasekaran (born 2 June 1963) is an Indian businessman, and the chairman of Tata Sons. He was chief operating officer (COO) and executive director of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), where in 2009, he became chief executive officer (CEO).
