Mohammad Yusuf (politician)
Dr. Mohammad Yusuf Khan (January 21, 1917 – January 23, 1998) was Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Afghanistan from March 10, 1963 to November 2, 1965. He was a technocrat who served under the reign of Mohammed Zahir Shah, and was the first Afghan prime minister not to be part of the royal family. He resigned on October 29, 1965. Yusuf's predecessor, Mohammed Daoud Khan, had made him Minister of Mines and Industries in 1953, a position in which he would serve for 10 years (prior to which he had been Deputy Minister of Education from 1949 to 1953). After serving as prime minister, he was appointed Ambassador to the Soviet Union, but left this post in 1973 following Daoud Khan's coup. When the Soviets invaded Afghanistan in 1979, he went into exile in Germany, where he lived until his death. Mohamed Yusuf Haji ( so, Maxamed Yuusuf Xaaji) (23 December 1940 – 15 February 2021) was a Kenyan politician. He was the Minister of Defence of Kenya from 2008 to 2013, and briefly served as its acting Minister of Internal Security and Provincial Affairs in 2012. Mohammad Yousuf PP SI ( Punjabi, ur, ; formerly Yousuf Youhana, ; born 27 August 1974) is a Pakistani cricket coach and former cricketer and captain, who played all three formats. Prior to his conversion to Islam, Yousuf was one of the few Christians to play for the Pakistan national cricket team. Yousuf scored 1,788 runs in 2006 which is a world record for most runs scored in a year in tests at an average of almost 100. Yousuf was banned from playing international cricket for Pakistan by the Pakistan Cricket Board on 10 March 2010, following an inquiry into the team's defeats during the tour of Australia. An official statement was released by the Pakistan Cricket Board, saying that he would not be selected again because he had created disciplinary problems and infighting within the team. Mohamed Yusuf ( sd, محمد يوسف, also known as ''Sir Mohammed Yusuf'' – sd, سر محمد يوسف), (born 1876; died 15 September 1965), was an early 20th century Indian businessman and philanthropist. He was the proprietor of Bombay Steam Navigation Company. The Yusuf family own vast amounts of land in Mumbai and the vicinity and is one of the ten largest private landowners in Mumbai. Life and family Mohamed Yusuf belonged to a Kutchi Memon family which trace his roots to modern Gujarat, and was the only son of Haji Ismail Hasham. In 1894, at the age of 18, he joined his father's company. The Bombay Steam Navigation Company was engaged in trade along the Konkan coast, and Mohammed Yusuf helped his father expand these activities. Mohammad Yousf Azraq (5 October 1937 in Logar, Afghanistan – 27 January 1992 in Kabul) was an Afghan historian and writer who wrote about Afghanistan's history and as well as cultural and theological backgrounds of South Asia and Middle East. Life Azraq was born in a peasant family in Logar province of Afghanistan. His father was a farmer and he lost his mother when he was 10 years old. Azraq had an ardent interest for education and knowledge and therefore his maternal uncle made sure Azraq achieved his goals.
