Mohammed Rafique (footballer)
Mohammed Rafique (born 26 March 1991), is an Indian footballer who plays as a midfielder for Chennaiyin in the Indian Super League. Club career Prayag United After spending his youth years at Tollygunge Agragami, Rafique joined Prayag United in 2010 and would go on to play 6 senior games in his debut season, scoring once against Chirag United Kerala. Rafique played five games during the 2011-12 I-League season, his second at senior level for Prayag. Rafique established himself as a regular in the centre of midfield in his final two seasons at United SC. East Bengal Rafique signed for East Bengal in May 2014 on a two-year deal and was loaned out to Atlético de Kolkata for the 2014 Indian Super League. Rafique scored the title winning goal in the 90th minute from a corner in the final. Sodepur
Sodepur or Sodpur is a locality in Panihati, Panihati Municipality of North 24 Parganas district in the Indian States and territories of India, state of West Bengal. 2011–12 I-League
The 2011–12 I-League was the fifth season of the I-League. The season began in October 2011 and ended in May 2012. Salgaocar are the defending champions, having won their maiden title in the previous season. The current edition has a total of 14 teams contesting for the honors. These include the top twelve teams from the 2010–11 season along with the two promoted sides, Shillong Lajong and Sporting Clube de Goa, who had been the winner and the runner-up in the 2011 I-League 2nd Division respectively. I-League
The I-League (known as Hero I-League for sponsorship ties with Hero MotoCorp) is the second-tier men's professional football competition of the Indian football league system. It is currently contested by 12 clubs across the country with the winners getting promotion to play in the premier division, the Indian Super League. The competition was founded in 2007 as the successor to the National Football League, with the first season starting in November 2007. The league was launched as India's first ever top-tier professional football league with the aim to increase the player pool for the India national team. The 2010–11 I-League was the fourth season of the I-League, which waa the highest football league competition in India during the time. It ran from 3 December 2010 to May 2011. Dempo are the defending champions. On 30 May 2011 Salgaocar SC won the title by beating JCT FC 2–0 in the final match of the season. Teams Sporting Clube de Goa and Shillong Lajong FC were relegated at the end of the 2009–10 season after finishing in the bottom two places of the table. They were replaced by 2010 Second Division champions ONGC FC and runners-up HAL SC. In other team changes, Mahindra United were disbanded at the end of the 2009–10 season to concentrate on youth football. The 2014 Hero Indian Super League was the first season of the Indian Super League, the top flight football league of India. The season featured eight teams, each playing 14 matches during the regular season. The regular season started on 12 October when Atlético de Kolkata defeated Mumbai City 3–0 at the Salt Lake Stadium.
