Muhammad Ahmad ( ar, محمد أحمد ابن عبد الله; 12 August 1844 – 22 June 1885) was a Nubian Sufi religious leader of the Samaniyya order in Sudan who, as a youth, studied Sunni Islam. In 1881, he claimed to be the Mahdi, and led a successful war against Ottoman-Egyptian military rule in Sudan and achieved a remarkable victory over the British, in the siege of Khartoum. He created a vast Islamic state extending from the Red Sea to Central Africa, and founded a movement that remained influential in Sudan a century later. Muhammad Abdul Elah Ahmed ( ar, محمد عبد الإله أحمد; born October 25, 1976, in Baghdad) is an Iraqi former swimmer, who specialized in sprint freestyle events. Ahmed competed for Iraq in the Swimming at the 2000 Summer Olympics – Men's 50 metre freestyle, men's 50 m freestyle at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. He received a ticket from FINA, under a Universality program, in an entry time of 25.50. He challenged seven other swimmers in heat two, including teenagers Khalid Al-Kulaibi of Oman (aged 14) and Sikhounxay Ounkhamphanyavong of Laos (aged 17). Diving in with a 0.66-second deficit, he overhauled a 26-second barrier and came up with a spectacular swim to pick up a third seed in 25.84, 34-hundredths of a second below his entry standard. Mohammed Nasser Ahmed ( ar, محمد ناصر أحمد ; born 1950) is a Yemeni major general, who was the defense minister of Yemen between 2006 and 2014. Education Ahmed was born on 1 January 1950 in Na`ab, Mudiyah District, Abyan Governorate. He holds a master's degree in military science. Career Ahmed served in various capacities in Yemeni army and ministry of defense until 1994. That year he became director of logistics and supply. He later joined the Congress Party. Mohammed Ahmed (born January 5, 1991) is a Canadian long-distance runner. A three-time Olympian, he is his country's most successful athlete in long distance racing, being the first to medal in the 5000 metres at both the World Championships (bronze in 2019) and the Olympic Games (silver in 2021). Muhammad Ahmed ( ur, ; born 3 January 1988) is a Pakistani footballer who plays as a centre back for Pakistan Premier League club Huma FC. Mohamed Ahmed ( ar, محمد أحمد; born 14 July 1999), known as Beso ( ar, بيسو), is an Egyptian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Al Ahly. Mohamed Ahmed ( ar, محمد أحمد, ''Muhammad Ahmad'') (July 2, 1917 – January 27, 1984) was a Comorian politician. Biography He was born in Mutsamudu on the island of Anjouan. During the 1950s, he became one of the most important non-French political leaders in the Comoros, and served as vice-president of the government council from 1957 until 1962.
