Mohammed Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah
Sheikh Mohammed Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah (1909 – 4 April 1975) ( ar, الشيخ محمد الأحمد الجابر الصباح, translit=ash-Shaykh Muḥammad al-ʾAḥmad al-Jābir aṣ-Ṣabāḥ) was the second son of Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. He was the first minister of defense, before the formation of the ministry itself. He was assigned this responsibility when the first council of ministers formed in 1962. He was reassigned to the post after the first elections for the National Assembly (Kuwait), National Assembly of Kuwait and remained in the post until 30 November 1964. The Kuwait Naval Base, formally the Mohammed Al-Ahmad Kuwait Naval Base, was named after him. Nasser Al-Mohammed Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah ( ar, الشيخ ناصر المحمد الأحمد الجابر الصباح, ash-Shaykh Nāṣir Muḥammad al-ʾAḥmad al-Jābir aṣ-Ṣabāḥ, born 22 December 1940) is a Kuwaiti politician who served as Prime Minister of Kuwait from 7 February 2006 until resigning on 28 November 2011. Early life Sheikh Nasser was born on 22 December 1940 as the son of Mohammed Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the first defense minister of Kuwait. He is a nephew of the former Emir of Kuwait, Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. He attended high school in the United Kingdom and graduated in 1955. Kuwait Naval Base
Mohammed Al-Ahmad Kuwait Naval Base is a Kuwaiti Navy base on the eastern coast of Kuwait. It is named after Mohammed Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the first Defense Minister of Kuwait. The base is also used by the United States Army, Navy and Coast Guard. The House of Sabah ( ar, آل صباح ''Āl Ṣubāḥ'') is the ruling family of Kuwait. History Origin The Al Sabah family originate from the Bani Utbah confederation. Prior to settling in Kuwait, the Al Sabah family were expelled from Umm Qasr in southern Iraq by the Ottomans due to their predatory habits of preying on caravans in Basra and trading ships in Shatt al-Arab. According to one oral tradition, the Al Sabah family settled across various regions in southern Iran and Iraq, until they finally settled in what is now Kuwait around the early 1700s.
