Mohammad Taghi Vaezi
Ayatollah Mohammad Taghi Vaezi ( fa, محمد تقی واعظی, born 1951 in Tehran) is an Iranian Shia cleric, author and politician. He is a member of the 4th Assembly of Experts from the Zanjan Province electorate. Vaezi won membership with 380,308 votes. He has been imam Jumu'ah for Zanjan in northwest of Iran since 2003. to 2011. Jumu'ah
In Islam, Friday prayer or Congregational prayer ( ar, صَلَاة ٱلْجُمُعَة, ') is a prayer (''ṣalāt'') that Muslims hold every Friday, after noon instead of the Zuhr prayer. In Islam, a khatib, khateeb or hatib ( ar, خطيب ''khaṭīb'') is a person who delivers the sermon (''khuṭbah'') (literally "narration"), during the Friday prayer and Eid prayers. The ''khateeb'' is usually the prayer leader (''imam''), but the two roles can be played by different people. The khatib should be knowledgeable of how to lead the prayer and be competent in delivering the speech (''khutba'') however there are no requirements of eligibility to become a khatib beyond being an Adult Muslim. Some Muslims believe the khatib has to be male but women do lead Friday prayers in number of places. Women may be khateebahs. Edina Lekovic gave the inaugural khutba at the Women's Mosque in 2015. 2006 Iranian Assembly Of Experts Election
The fourth Iranian Assembly of Experts election was held on 15 December 2006. The Assembly of Experts is a Council of 86 '' mujtahids'' that elect the Supreme Leader, and oversee his actions. The members of the Assembly are elected every eight years directly by the people of Iran. The elections took place the same day as the City and Village Councils elections. Candidates The credentials of being a Mujtahid were approved for all candidates by the Guardian Council using written and oral (interview) examinations. Some members of the Guardian Council also ran for the Assembly of Experts. Although there were a few female ayatollahs ( Mujtahidehs) applying for candidacy, they could not pass the examination.
