Mohamed El Hankouri
Mohamed El Hankouri (born 1 July 1997) is a professional footballer who plays as a winger for German club Magdeburg. Born in the Netherlands, El Hankouri is a youth international for Morocco. Club career El Hankouri rose through the Feyenoord youth ranks. He made his debut for Feyenoord on 27 August 2016 in an Eredivisie game against Excelsior Rotterdam. He came on as a substitute for Steven Berghuis in the 81st minute, in 4–1 home match win. On 16 January 2019, El Hankouri completed a move to FC Groningen going on loan for the remainder of the season first, after which he will sign a two-year contract for a permanent move. FC Groningen
Football Club Groningen () is a Dutch professional association football club based in Groningen, province of Groningen. Founded on 16 June 1971 as the successor of GVAV, the team compete in the Eredivisie, the highest tier of Dutch football. Groningen played their inaugural season in the Eredivisie, before the side were relegated to the Eerste Divisie in 1973–74 as they got into financial difficulties. 2016–17 Feyenoord Season
The 2016–17 season was Feyenoord's 109th season of play, it marked its 61st season in the Eredivisie and its 95th consecutive season in the top flight of Dutch football. It was the second season with manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst, a former player who played seven seasons for Feyenoord and who played 106 times for Dutch national team. 2017 Johan Cruyff Shield
The 2017 Johan Cruyff Shield was the 22nd edition of the Johan Cruyff Shield ( nl, Johan Cruijff Schaal), an annual Dutch football match played between the winners of the previous season's Eredivisie and KNVB Cup. The match was contested by Feyenoord, champions of the 2016–17 Eredivisie, and Vitesse, winners of the 2016–17 KNVB Cup. It was held at the De Kuip in Rotterdam on 5 August 2017. Feyenoord won the match 4–2 on penalties, following a 1–1 draw at the end of regulation. It was the first time that the Johan Cruyff Shield was decided by a penalty shoot-out. For the first time, the Johan Cruyff Shield was played at the stadium of the previous season's Eredivisie winner, instead of the default Amsterdam Arena. Johan Cruyff Shield
The Johan Cruyff Shield (, ) is a football trophy in the Netherlands named after Dutch footballer Johan Cruyff, also often referred to as the Dutch Super Cup. The winner is decided in one match only, played by the winner of the national football league, Eredivisie, and the winner of the national KNVB Cup. In the event of a team winning both the Eredivisie and the KNVB Cup, the Johan Cruyff Shield will be contested between that team and the runner up in the national league. The trophy The trophy is a silver plate with a 60-centimetre diameter. It is similar to the trophies received by the champions of the Eredivisie. 2016–17 Eredivisie
The 2016–17 Eredivisie season was the 61st season of the top-tier Dutch League Eredivisie since its establishment in 1956. The fixtures for this season were announced on 14 June 2016. Teams A total of 18 teams took part in the league: The best fifteen teams from the 2015–16 season, two promotion/relegation playoff winners and the 2015–16 Eerste Divisie champions. Sparta Rotterdam, the champion of the 2015–16 Eerste Divisie, returned to the Eredivisie after spending six seasons in the Eerste Divisie, whereas play-off winner Go Ahead Eagles returned to the Eredivisie after just one season. They replaced relegated teams Cambuur and De Graafschap. 2020–21 Eredivisie
The 2020–21 Eredivisie was the 65th season of the Eredivisie since its establishment in 1955. The season began on 12 September 2020 and concluded on 16 May 2021. On 2 February 2021, the KNVB announced that effective immediately clubs would be allowed to make an extra substitution for suspected concussions as part of an IFAB sanctioned trial. This trial will allow teams to make up to six substitutions across four breaks in the match instead of five substitutions across three breaks in the match. Ajax, having won the title in 2018–19, were the title holders, since the 2019–20 edition was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the Netherlands after 25 matchdays and the title was not awarded. The 2019–20 Eredivisie was the 64th season of the Dutch football league Eredivisie since its establishment in 1955. The season began on 2 August 2019 and was suspended on 12 March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the Netherlands. The season was abandoned on 24 April. Ajax were the defending champion. Twente, RKC Waalwijk, and Sparta Rotterdam joined as the promoted clubs from the 2018–19 Eerste Divisie.
