Mohamad Hammoud (footballer, Born 1984)
Mohamad Mostafa Hammoud (; born 1 May 1984) is a Lebanese footballer who plays as a right-back. Club career Starting his career at Sagesse in 2001, Hammoud remained at the Beirut-based club until 2009, when he moved to Akhaa Ahli Aley. After spending five years at the club, he joined Nejmeh in 2014, before moving to Shabab Arabi in 2017, staying one season. Hammoud moved to Sporting on 12 October 2020; he became the team captain, and helped his team gain promotion to the Lebanese Premier League for the first time. Hammoud returned to Akhaa Ahli Aley on 13 July 2022. The Lebanese Challenge Cup () is a Lebanese football annual cup competition contested by the teams placed between 7th and 10th in the previous season of the Lebanese Premier League and the two newly promoted teams from the Lebanese Second Division. Founded in 2013, the most successful clubs in the competition are Tadamon Sour, Shabab Sahel, Racing Beirut and Bourj, all with two titles each. The first two placed teams in each group qualify to the knock-out stages, where two one-legged semi-finals are disputed. 2020–21 Lebanese Second Division
The Lebanese Second Division ( ar, الدوري اللبناني الدرجة الثانية) is the second division of Lebanese football. It is controlled by the Lebanese Football Association. The top two teams qualify for the Lebanese Premier League and replace the relegated teams, while the bottom two are relegated to the Lebanese Third Division. The league was initially scheduled to start in September, before being postponed to 2 October as part of preventive measures by the state towards the COVID-19 pandemic. It is the first season to feature a "split" format, where the season is divided into two phases. In the first phase, each club plays against each other once, for a total of 11 matchdays. In the second phase, the league is split into two halves – the "top six" and the "bottom six". Points are carried over from the first phase, and each club plays five games within its own half.
