Mogumber is a locality in Western Australia. It is in the Shire of Victoria Plains, and situated along the Bindoon Moora Road. Although it is a settlement, it is not officially a townsite. It is the location where the Moore River East joins the Moore River. As of the 2016 Australian census, Mogumber had a population of 59. A grain storage bin was built at Mogumber in 1980 by CBH Group. It was the first of CBH's " Type K" grain storage facility. , the grain storage bin is not used. Mogumber has a tavern. Mogumber West Nature Reserve is located in Mogumber. The nature reserve surrounds the Moore River. The reserve has an area of . There is also the Mogumber Nature Reserve located just south of the boundary of Mogumber in Mindarra, which is home to the endangered ''Darwinia carnea'', also known as the Mogumber bell. Moore River is a river in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia. Geography The headwaters of the Moore River lie in the Perenjori, Carnamah and Dalwallinu Shires. The river then drains southwards through Moora, flows westerly before joining with the Moore River East near Mogumber, then flows in a westerly direction over the Edengerie Cascade, through the northern edge of the Moore River Nature Reserve, then through the Gingin Scarp, discharging into the Indian Ocean at Guilderton. The river includes a catchment that extends from just south of Three Springs to Guilderton. The catchment has a total area of and is 80% cleared for agriculture. The catchment area is used for broadacre farming but with increasing diversification in horticulture and tree plantations. The 2016 Australian census was the 17th national population census held in Australia. The census was officially conducted with effect on Tuesday, 9 August 2016. The total population of the Commonwealth of Australia was counted as – an increase of 8.8 per cent or people over the . CBH Group
The CBH Group (commonly known as CBH, an acronym for Co-operative Bulk Handling), is a grain growers' cooperative that handles, markets and processes grain from the wheatbelt of Western Australia. History CBH was formed on 5 April 1933, at a time when a royal commission on bulk handling of grain was in progress, and after over 20 years of failed proposals for bulk handling of grain in Western Australia. The trustees of the Wheat Board of Western Australia and Wesfarmers registered the company together with capital of £100,000 divided evenly into 100,000 shares. The cooperative was formed under the principle of one person, one vote, regardless of the amount of grain supplied. CBH merged with the Grain Pool of WA in November 2002, after the Parliament of Western Australia passed legislation allowing the merger to go ahead. Mogumber Nature Reserve
The Mogumber Nature Reserve is a nature reserve in Western Australia. It is a refuge for the endangered Western Swamp Tortoise along with the Twin Swamps Nature Reserve and the Ellen Brook Nature Reserve. Twin Swamps and Ellen Brook are IUCN Protected Area Management Category IV Reserves, while the Mogumber Nature Reserve is a Category Ia nature reserve. The vegetation is a woodland dominated by marri (''Corymbia calophylla'') and jarrah (''Eucalyptus marginata''). The rare species '' Darwinia carnea'' (Mogumber bell) occurs in the area. ''Darwinia carnea'', commonly known as Mogumber bell or Narrogin bell, is a species of flowering plant in the myrtle family Myrtaceae and is endemic to the south-west of Western Australia.
