Modern (political Party)
Modern (, styled as ".Nowoczesna") is a Centrism, centrist to Centre-right politics, centre-right list of political parties in Poland, political party in Poland. It is currently led by Adam Szłapka. It was formed in 2015 as "NowoczesnaPL" although it had to change the name to ".Nowoczesna" later that year due to a dispute with the similarly named Modern Poland Foundation. Its first president Ryszard Petru served until 2017, when he was succeeded by Katarzyna Lubnauer. It first gained seats in the 2015 Polish parliamentary election, 2015 parliamentary election, and in 2018 it joined the Civic Coalition (Poland), Civic Coalition to participate together in the 2018 Polish local elections, local elections. Szłapka was elected as the president in 2019. Adam Szłapka
Adam Stanisław Szłapka (born December 6, 1984, in Kościan) is a Polish politician, political scientist, and local government official. He has been a member of the Sejm (Polish Parliament) for the 8th, 9th, and 10th terms (since 2015). He has served as the leader of the Modern party (Nowoczesna) since 2019 and has been the Minister for European Union Affairs in Donald Tusk's third government since 2023. Early life and education Szłapka was born on 6 December 1984 in Kościan, Greater Poland Voivodeship. He graduated from the Oskar Kolberg High School No. 1 in Kościan. TVN24 is a Polish 24-hour commercial news channel, launched on 9 August 2001. Being a part of the TVN Network, TVN24 has been owned since 2018 by US-based media company Warner Bros. Discovery ( Discovery, Inc. before 2022). It gained broader popularity after the September 11, 2001 attacks in the US, which was the first major incident to be covered by TVN24. It is available over all digital platforms in Poland ( Polsat Box and Platforma Canal+) as well as in most cable networks and some networks in other countries, including USA ( Dish Network) and Germany. 2015 Polish Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Poland on 25 October 2015. All 460 members of the Sejm and 100 senators of the Senate of Poland, Senate were elected. Katarzyna Anna Lubnauer (''née'' Libudzisz; born 24 July 1969) is a Polish politician, feminist, mathematician and academic teacher. She is a member of the Polish Parliament and a former leader of the liberal Modern (''.Nowoczesna'') political party. In 2023, she was appointed State Secretary in the Ministry of National Education.
