Mo Chit 2
The Bangkok Bus Terminal (Chatuchak), colloquially known as Mo Chit 2 () or New Mo Chit, is one of the main long-distance bus stations serving Greater Bangkok. Managed by The Transport Company, Ltd., (TCL), it's the main spot for those who are traveling by bus to and from the Northern Thailand, northern and Isan, northeastern provinces. Replacing the Mo Chit Bus Terminal, old Mochit Station, Bangkok Bus Terminal (Chatuchak) was built to serve the changes of the BTS Skytrain depot and the increase in transportation. It was opened on April 8, 1998. However, there would be a move returning to the old Mochit Station due to the expansion of the Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal, Bang sue Central Station. The road is a site of MRT Blue Line station Kamphaeng Phet. History The road was constructed in the year 1978 by Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) to connect Phaholyothin Road with Yan Phaholyothin Road and received construction assistance from the Military Battalion, 111th Mechanic, 11th Military Department of Ratchaburi Province. Due to the road run through the land of the State Railway of Thailand (SRT), therefore used the name "Kamphaeng Phet Road" in honour of Purachatra Jayakara, Prince of Kamphaeng Phet. Who was the first commander of Royal State Railways of Siam (now State Railway of Thailand), and regarded as ''Father of the Thai railways''.
