Mnemos EP
''Mnemos'' is a 2012 remix EP recorded by Christian experimental rock band Falling Up. It was released on April 10, 2012, as part of a "pay-as-you-can" package on Groupees, a website which allows users to purchase packages containing various digital downloads. All of the proceeds from the album went to benefit the homeless, with over 3,200 meals being served from the project. Falling Up offered two reward packages, with the first consisting of three bonus tracks if there were over 1,000 downloads. Within the first day, the 1,000 mark was broken. After the promotion, the album became available for download on the band's BandCamp page. Although ''Mnemos'' is a remix album, most of the tracks are orchestral in nature, with various hooks in earlier tracks being used and repeated throughout the album. Falling Up (band)
Falling Up was an American Christian rock band from Albany, Oregon. Falling Up formed in October 2001, and released their debut album ''Crashings'' in 2004. They were signed to BEC Recordings in 2003 after a recommendation from friends in the band Kutless. The band's name came from the first song they wrote, which talked about their belief in both human imperfection and in the grace of God which compensates for that imperfection; their lyrics were heavily grace-themed. Over time, the lyrics became more abstract and poetic as the band's style shifted from alternative rock to a more experimental direction, and they started creating more diverse music. The band went through several line-up changes, with only lead vocalist Jessy Ribordy, bassist Jeremy Miller, and drummer Josh Shroy appearing on every album. A remix (or reorchestration) is a piece of media which has been altered or contorted from its original state by adding, removing, or changing pieces of the item. A song, piece of artwork, book, video, poem, or photograph can all be remixes. The only characteristic of a remix is that it appropriates and changes other materials to create something new. ''Your Sparkling Death Cometh'' is the fifth studio album and the first album independently released by the American experimental rock group Falling Up on June 28, 2011. The album was first announced on October 22, 2010, The band, having left their long-time record label, BEC Recordings, decided to stay independent and produce the album completely through fundraising. Falling Up's fundraiser for ''Your Sparkling Death Cometh'' finished On January 21, 2011, with the total amount received being $13,665, which was $3,665 higher than the original amount needed. On March 18, 2011, Falling Up announced on their website that the upcoming album would be titled ''Your Sparkling Death Cometh'', which was a significant departure from their previous album titles. As to the meaning behind the album, Falling Up has explained that "Your Sparkling Death Cometh is a title/album/idea that sometimes we all must go through the darkest cave to find the brightest light." Hours (The Machine De Ella Project)
''Hours'' is a 2013 concept album recorded by experimental Christian rock band Falling Up. It is part of the ''Machine De Ella'' project, which includes a novel, also entitled ''Hours'', written by lead-singer and producer, Jessy Ribordy. The project also includes their album '' Midnight on Earthship''. ''Hours'', along with ''Midnight on Earthship'', is Falling Up's sixth/seventh studio album. It was released over a period of time, having started on October 9, 2012, and concluded on February 19, 2013. A new song was released every two weeks for approximately four months until all twelve tracks were digitally released to the Machine De Ella members. It is the first Falling Up album to feature Nick Lambert, who had previously worked as a session guitarist on Your Sparkling Death Cometh. BEC (Brandon Ebel Company) Recordings is a Christian rock record label that is an imprint of Tooth & Nail Records. The label was formed in 1997 in partnership with the EMI Christian Music Group.
