Mk II (album)
''Mk II'' was the second album of the British rock band Steamhammer. Background For this LP, drummer Michael Ruston was replaced by Mick Bradley (who stayed with the band through to their final LP in 1972, ''Speech''). Guitarist Martin Quittenton had also departed, to focus on songwriting (primarily with Rod Stewart) and sax and flute player Steve Jolliffe was added to the lineup (he later joined Tangerine Dream). Mick Bradley
Mick Bradley (1947 – 8 February 1972) was a British drummer and vocalist, known for being a member of the blues-rock band Steamhammer. He played on three Steamhammer albums. In 1969, Bradley played drums on the ''Methuselah'' album by the late 1960s band Methuselah. He then joined Steamhammer, taking over from Michael Rushton, and played drums on the '' Mk II'' (1969), ''Mountains'' (1970), and ''Speech'' (1972) albums. He also played percussion and conga. Bradley died on 8 February 1972, aged 25. He died from undiagnosed leukemia shortly before the mixing of the ''Speech'' album was completed. The album is dedicated to him on the inside album cover and the band dissolved the following year, making ''Speech'' the final Steamhammer album. Steve Davy is a British bass guitarist and vocalist, known for being a member of the blues-rock band Steamhammer (band), Steamhammer. He played on the first three Steamhammer albums. Subsequently he left the band and was replaced by Louis Cennamo. On the ''Steamhammer (album), Steamhammer'' (also known as ''Reflection'') and ''Mk II (album), Mk II'' albums of 1969, Davy played bass guitar and sang backing vocals. On the 1970 ''Mountains (1970 album), Mountains'' album he also played Organ (music), organ. Martin Pugh
Martin John Pugh is a British guitarist who came to prominence after joining blues-rock band Steamhammer in 1968, staying with that band through 5 years and 4 albums. The debut Steamhammer album, also known as '' Steamhammer'', was released in 1969 and yielded a minor hit record in Europe, "Junior's Wailing". Pugh also played on the first Rod Stewart solo album, '' An Old Raincoat Won't Ever Let You Down'' (aka ''The Rod Stewart Album''). Following the dissolution of Steamhammer in 1973, Pugh and Steamhammer bassist Louis Cennamo joined up with former the Yardbirds vocalist Keith Relf (who had played with Cennamo in Renaissance and had helped produce the final Steamhammer LP) and drummer Bobby Caldwell to form Armageddon in 1975. Kieran White
Kieran Raymond White (July 27, 1948 - August 9, 1995, Oregon, United States) was an English baritone rock vocalist and guitarist. He sang and played in the blues-rock band Steamhammer, formed in 1968. Their debut album, '' Steamhammer''. was released in 1969, on which White co-wrote many of the songs and played harmonica. White left Steamhammer in 1971 and recorded a solo album, ''Open Door'' (released in 1975). He also worked for Gull Records as a staff songwriter, and later sang for the jazz-rock band Nucleus. After this period, he emigrated to the United States and became a truck driver, settling in Oregon. Tangerine Dream
Tangerine Dream is a German electronic music band founded in 1967 by Edgar Froese. The group has seen many personnel changes over the years, with Froese having been the only constant member until his death in January 2015. The best-known lineup of the group was its mid-1970s trio of Froese, Christopher Franke, and Peter Baumann. In 1979, Johannes Schmoelling replaced Baumann. Since Froese's death in 2015, the group has been under the leadership of Thorsten Quaeschning (Froese's chosen successor and the current longest-serving band member, having joined in 2005). He was joined by violinist Hoshiko Yamane in 2011, Ulrich Schnauss in 2014 and Paul Frick in 2020. Tangerine Dream are considered a pioneering act in electronica. Steve Jolliffe
Steve Jolliffe (born 28 April 1949) is an English musician. After meeting Rick Davies (Supertramp) in the late 1960s Jolliffe played with him in a band called the Joint. He left the Joint to study music at the Berlin Konservatorium. There he met Edgar Froese and played with one of the earliest incarnations of Tangerine Dream. He subsequently joined the band Steamhammer, a blues-rock outfit that experienced moderate success in the early 1970s, touring extensively and played on their "Steamhammer II" album, as well as co-writing the "Autumn Song" single which topped the French charts. After leaving the band, Jolliffe composed the music for John Samson's 1973 documentary ''Tattoo''. Jolliffe rejoined Tangerine Dream in the late 1970s, recording the album ''Cyclone'' with the band in 1978. He then released a solo album entitled ''Earth'' in 1978.
