was a Japanese engineer and inventor best known for his work on tactile paving (or "Tenji bricks", "Tactile bricks/blocks") to aid the visually impaired at traffic crossings. Miyake's system of tactile paving was first introduced at a school for the blind in Okayama City in March 1967, and has since been adopted around the world. Early life Seiichi Miyake was born on 5 February 1926 in Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture. Inventing tactile bricks In 1965, Seiichi Miyake used his own money to create tactile bricks, which have patterns of raised shapes on their surfaces that can be detected by touch. He invented the blocks to help a friend who was starting to have visual impairment. These patterns indicate different safety or hazard conditions, such as raised dots or blisters for "caution", or long parallel strips for "safe to move ahead". is a Japanese composer and sound engineer formally for Bandai Namco Entertainment. His most known work surfaced with ''Katamari Damacy'' soundtracks, on which he served as a sound director. Yukari Miyake (, ''Miyake Yukari''; born December 14, 1986) is a Japanese petty officer of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) and vocalist of the Tokyo SDF Band. The first and only official vocalist for the Music Corp to join the JMSDF, Miyake has released a number of CDs she sang with the SDF Band. Yoshinobu Miyake
is a retired Japanese weightlifter and Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Lieutenant. He won one silver and two gold medals at the 1960, 1964 and 1968 Olympics and finished fourth in 1972. He also won world titles in 1962, 1963 and 1965–66. Between 1959 and 1969 Miyake set 25 official world records, including 10 consecutive records in the snatch and nine consecutive records in the total. In 1993 he was inducted into the International Weightlifting Federation Hall of Fame. Miyake was known for his signature "frog style" or "Miyake pull" lifting technique, in which he kept his heels together with knees spread outward to about 60 degrees with a wide grip on the bar, resembling a frog. Miyake Yasunobu
was a Japanese ''daimyō'' of the late Sengoku period through early Edo period. He was born in Tōtōmi Province, the eldest son of Miyake Yasusada. Together with his father, Yasunobu served Tokugawa Ieyasu, fighting in many of the Tokugawa clan's major campaigns. During the Battle of Sekigahara (1600), Yasunobu served as castle warden of Yokosuka Castle, and was granted wardenship of Kameyama Castle after the campaign. Sadahiko Miyake
was a general in the Imperial Japanese Army, commanding Japanese ground forces on New Guinea during the closing months of the war. Biography Miyake was born in Okayama prefecture. He graduated from the 24th class of the Imperial Japanese Army Academy in May 1912. In March 1939, he was promoted to colonel in the infantry and was appointed Chief of the Ordnance Section of the IJA 116th Division in 1939. This division was a new division which had been activated only a year earlier to reinforce the Central China Expeditionary Army during the Second Sino-Japanese War. In April 1940, Miyake was appointed Commanding Officer of the IJA 80th Infantry Regiment, a garrison force in Korea.
